From memory Moggy wanted more than the NRL were willing to pay fopr his services. He copped a bit of flak, but to be fair he was certainly no worse than most of the current crop of refs. He was certainly not the worst of the refs doing the rounds at the time... does anybody remember Kelvin "the angry Chihuahua" Jeffes?

Basically Moggy got a job in the US (in some kinda banking/lawyer type field) anyway that job paid around 300k more then what he could get at best as an NRL ref.

So he jumped on a plane to the USA

I was about to say Maksoud - remember that game at Redfern in 96 I think when Maksoud cost us the game, actualy the dickhead cost us a few that season!
