No, the Board have set the precedent with Ando. If SK bombs this year then he should get the bullet.

No, not because people like to bag the board on the Ando decision, but because there are hundreds of perceivable situations that fall under whatever happens that should mean Kearney should get the punt... regardless of people's feelings on Anderson or the board

If he does not get the results next season with all the purchases he has done he will be out the back door in no time.

Like I said on the other thread I don't think such a proud club like eels can take 3 years of bottom of the table and no finals.

I think he will have till around round 10-12 to show what he can do with all the buys he has made.

Parra where always going to struggle this year with all the senior players they lost.

Depends on circumstances. If hayne an sandow got season ending injuries you would have to take that heavily into account.

Also the biggest reason as i understood it for ansersons sacking was his lack of planning for the future of club.

I imagine Kearney has presented a three or five year plan such that the 2012 season results are not going to be the real yardstick of his performance.

It is even possible that the side could do well in 2012 but if Kearney does none of the things that he promised elsewhere, the board may be unhappy. Equally the side xould miss the semis but the bird e very happy that the club is heading in the right direction.

I think SK should see out his contract

thoughts?
agree although i would be asking questions if the side (barring serious injury to key personnel) didn't make the finals. i think we should be pushing top 6 at the end of the regular season with some of the players we have.

that aside, comments from the hoppa2 signing (as well as the media speculation a couple of months back) make me think that either sk has either been extended already with no official announcement or hoppa2 has a get out clause if sk is not the coach in 2014. but that is all speculation on my part.

So you all want SK to be sacked if they don't make the 8. No way this will happen. Forget Anderson his gone not becuase it was a result based. Anderson Asked for a Extension on his contract in 2010. Board told him we want to see how you go in 2011. Then if I am not getting extension I may as well get my contract paid out for 2011. I don't want to be here.

Ask your self a Question Did Wayne Bennett make the Semi's in his first three seasons as coach ? If Brisbane sacked him would he won the 92,93,98, 2000 and 2006 grandfinals with the bronocs.

Depends on circumstances. If we struggle again next year then questions need to be asked. No excuse for finishing on 17 competition points next year.

Depends on how we play.

If again like this season we are 65 minute warriors and 15 minute wimps, then yes I will be calling for a change.

SK is the coach, he has to get the side to perform, last year we saw again and again for most of the year a proud club, compete but fail in the last 15 minutes. It was like clockwork. If that happens after May 2012, then we have to think it wasn't the players, it wasn't the roster it was the coaching and rotation of the players, and that is something that would then have to change.

Agree totally.

I'm a fan of Kearney but if next year's side doesn't make the 8 I will be very concerned about his coaching ability.

That said, this year's team overachieved and they certainly look well coached - I'll be amazed if they don't play finals footy next year. About the only scenario I could see with us in the bottom 8 involves long-term injuries to Hayne and Sandow, as stated above.

Wasnt it you who said if we finished 13th or lower than we have had a bad year.

Now all of a sudden your hero kearney has over achieved.
Wow that is unbelievable. News flash we avoided the wooden spoon in the final week. I dont think that is over achieving

I'd like to see a bit of stability at the club, so, really, unless we have an abject failure of a season (wooden spoon), I'd like to see Kearney kept on.
It's hard to deny that the club has a plan going forward, and that it is more focused on successful strategies than what we've seen in the recent past.
Obviously, the proof will be in the pudding. Next year is certainly a telling season.

PS. I don't think I could have used more cliches if I tried.

I didn't anticipate all the injuries to our outside backs.

With faster edge defence we hold on in a lot of those last minute losses and we finish higher up the table.

They're all my heroes mate - they're the Parramatta Eels. Who do you go for?

We avoided the wooden spoon over 26 rounds, genius. And for this squad it's definitely overachieving - we finished ahead of two teams who made the finals last year.
