I've always been against players playing origin and for another nation, but it is happening now anyway (uate, petero, teo etc). I think it will work only if we stop nation hopping. I would hate to see someone play for Samoa in a mid season test, then for qld, then for Australia at the end of the year. I don't see any benefit to international rugby league if this happens and that is what opening up origin to international players is aiming for.

It's not the opening up of the Origin rules that would create that situation hutch, it's the rule that puts Australia, New Zealand and England above all other nations and allows nation hopping between these three and the rest as and when it suits.
