I arranged for my mate Mal Meninga to have a Queensland State of Origin jumper signed for me to be donated to the local Junior Rugby League Club as a fund raising venture. I have had the jumper framed, and mounted, and with a picture of Mal presenting the jumper to a representative of the Club. Over 40 Queensland greats have signed the jumper - signatures include Mal Meninga, Arthur Beetson, The King, Alfie Langer, Gene Miles, Mark and Garry Coyne, Jason Hethrington, Shane Webke, Shaun Berrigan, Rohan Hancock, Dave Brown, Mick McLean, Scott Sattler, Kerry Boustead, Kevy Walters, Steve Walters, Corey Parker, Will Tonga, Chris Phelan, Steve Jackson, Colin Scott, Dale Shearer...and plenty more I can't decipher at this stage.
Mal took the jumper to several functions for me...It shows the character of the bloke...A TRUE CHAMPION OF RUGBY LEAGUE...A great footballer, but an even better bloke.
The Junior Club is considering putting it on Ebay...or raffling it. What do you consider the best option?

EBAY......why don't you keep it since you went to the trouble of having it signed?

He said it's for fundraising for a junior club.
Ebay reaches more people, but make sure you send fliers around people you'd normally raffle to, to let them know (exactly) where to find and bid for it on the net.
For an item like this you should publicise your ebay auction to businesses up there, sporting related, sports sponsors etc.

Raffle or auction. Ebay is very slow and such a big item generally has to be put through twice at the very least to get it sold.

Thanks for the interest and suggestions. After discussions with the junior Club it has been decided to put the jumper on ebay. Will be listed around State of Origin time next year to keep interest at a premium. Will supply information to Nick Walshaw at RLW when it is going to go on, so keep your eyes open.
Thanks for the interest once again. I reckon the Club can get between $3,000 - $4,000. There is over 40 signatures...some others I have deciphered Willie Carne, Rohan Hancock, Dan Stains.. Mal - and his son Josh - did a great job for the Junior Club in organising the jumper signatures. He had the jumper for at least six weeks. Took it to both Lang Park and Sydney matches, as well as meetings with the Queensland FOGs - an absolute legend, a person who makes you proud to be involved in Rugby League.
