I think there's some important stuff already been mentioned, but one thing I would like to see is a regular NRL club game turned into a proper Hall of Fame day every year.

On say Round 23 or 24 on a Sunday Afternoon at Stadium Australia and perhaps alternate with Lang Park (or have a special seperate Queensland one). Give away a heap of tickets for juniors - really pack the place out. Imagine 80,000 people on a Sunday arvo, half of them kids. Get as many current and former players to come along and meet the fans, sign autographs and pose for pictures. Perhaps a lead in game could be with former players.

Afterwards either before the game or during half time, you can do a presentation to all the plays who made milestones during the year at both club and representative level - i.e. like 25 origin games, 100/200/300 club games et al. Then to cap it all off, they can induct one or two players into the Hall of Fame proper - perhaps one or two deceased player and one or two still living. Then to cap it all off, after the match, let the fans and player mix on the field and lets kids have a kick and a pass.

You're on the wrong side of history. I reckon within 10-20 years every Sydney team will be based in either SFS or ANZ. One day 20k stadiums just won't cut it anymore, we're just leading the trend. It'll have 4 home teams one day.

I think you're right. No more hills please.

You are a dumb merkin. So you're saying the IC should block sources of revenue into a sport badly in need of more money?

It's a bad look for T.V.

There is no atmosphere.

No team should have an advantage at using a ground that is used for the GF as a home ground.

But don't worry you tell everyone who wants to listen that Souths are a rich Club these days..................

1. f**k tv. If anyones watches what is in my opinion the greatest sport in the world for television, and is interested in how the crowd looks, they are an idiot. There's enough happening on the field I don't think people care about the crowd.
2. We're not the only ones who use ANZ, so do the Dogs, and the Eels do for a couple of games a year.
3. We don't have an "advantage". The offer to use ANZ is open to any Sydney team that wants to take it, it could hold at least 4 teams full time.

NRL needs a purpose built stadium with the capacity of 30k-35K. Perfect size for the NRL and for those blockbuster games during the year.

I actually agree with you - but with the lack of decent stadiums in Sydney and the move West of the majority of Leagues supporter base I don't see many viable alternatives.

Bunniesman is actually right when he says that 15,000 to 20,000 stadiums in the burbs with mud hills as viewing areas won't cut it in the future. We need proper alternatives in centralised locations where large numbers of people can arrive from all directions.

Like it or not Souths and the Bulldogs get larger crowds at ANZ than they did at Belmore or the SFS.

When they built ANZ I said it was a really short sighted idea to build an 80,000 all seater stadium in a City where 15,000 crowds were common place. They should have built a 40,000 seater stadium next door for regular season use.

Yes ANZ should only get used in the Finals games, but we short-sightedly ignored using Olympic funds to build another more suitable stadium and we are now stuck with using ANZ.

Our aim, rather than running to the suburbs with our tails between our legs sulking, should be to get our game to the stage where we DO fill the stadium for regular club matches. We'd be much better off if we could achieve that. Let's strive to get there!

Why? it won't make any difference. Didnt work for them. Only thing this would do is piss off our current players who have devoted themselves to this game.

Just because it didn't work before doesn't mean it can't work now.
It'd help with covering depth in an expanded comp, help put Union down another peg and who knows, one of them might even turn out to be good.

Union is doing a marvellous job of killing itself. It doesn't need any assistance from Rugby League.

Many things in life are quite happy to be self destructive, but rally and grow stronger when attacked from outside.

We'd be better off leaving them alone. Interference could backfire.
