The sentence where I used the word "idiot" began with the word "if". That's not name calling, don't be so sensitive. In the post I replied to originally, you were sounding like our fanbase is limited to our traditional heartland. For that exact reason, the move to ANZ stadium is a good one by Souths. They've probably realised by now, as you have, that Souths fan base is spread far and wide and by playing in the heart / West of Sydney, in League's heartland they're ensuring that as many of their supporters as possible will have as short a distance as possible to get to the games.
Thanks for the name calling though. You've certainly shown yourself up for what you are.
I wasn't having a go at Souths, I was merely pointing out that Souths have started to adapt to the new World and their ownership was doing a good job. Another reason (apart from the fact our fans don't see eye to eye) why they shouldn't merge with Souths. Which I believe IS the same thing you're argueing for.
I was merely pointing out that they need to keep doing a good job to ensure that they're successful in the future and that Memberships don't fall as their traditional heartland has changed.
But feel free to ignore what I'm saying and go back to pointless name calling and chest beating. After all, you're rather very good at that.
Your 2nd post was different. I agree with a lot of the points you make in this one. I think the move to ANZ was brilliant. The Parra/Homebush area is the geographic heart of Sydney and it's been proven by our growth in crowds from 13k to 17k+ since we've been in ANZ. Our fans come from all over and it's one of the many reasons we don't have to merge.
It's a different story with Manly and Easts. Now Easts obviously have enough money that they don't need to merge, but i think it could have positives for both clubs if they were to do it.
