What's the Story with Saints & Rep Selectors.

Here we go again Ben Hornby is being touted as a Mini replacement for SOO fullback. Now I am not saying this guy is not an excellent footballer in fact I wouldnt mind seeing him in Tigers colours as well as a few other Saints. The point that I am making is that if you play for the Dragons even after 1 or 2 good games you are looked at as being a possible rep player.
If you look at the Saints rep players they are real impact guys that on their day can be game breakers. The down side is the injury toll they endure for the way they play.
If you look at where Saints sit on the ladder do they deserve the numbers that they get into rep sides?
The argument against this is "Hey they perform when they get there" thats fine, but whose to say some of the guys who miss out from other sides would not perform at a similar level if they got a call up.
It just seems to me that a couple of real good games for Saints puts you further up the rep ladder over someone who can perform at NRL level week after week, a lot of the time clocking up more minutes on the field each game than their Saints rivals.
Is it just me or do you guys see this as well?
By the way I also see this as a problem for Saints as the rep season can decimate their club at a vital time of the year.

Well i view Honrby as utility player when it comes to Origin, i know a lot of people are happy to see him in there becuase he does derserve it but i also know that i'd be seriously considering our number 1 as the back up full back given his past experience and current form. For me Hornby's a little too raw to be playing such a key position in origin football.

We'll soon find out.
He's been announced as the NSW fullback with Minichiello on the wing. All I can say is What the f.....?

I cant call it a joke because he does deserve to be there in some capacity but not as a starting , first choice fullback. Lozza daley has been pulling the strings for the last 2 weeks with this squad so its no surprise. IF minichello is in the squad why is he not fullback? And if he's not then i dont think it'll be long before he's moved back , maybe 40 mins into game one.

I don't wish anyone to go crap (except Ryan Cross) but if Hornby and Mini have shockers, Hodgo should be be handed the Number 1, no questions asked. Looking at the NSW team, i'm sensing a Maroon victory. (It's also a bit of a protest for not picking any Wests boys  )

Gobbs im not sensing a qld victory i am deadset certain they will carve us up by at least 20. look at our forwards, o'mealey big but what else has he got going for him
o'hara saw his effort yesterday o'who ???. hindmarsh and ryan well they have proven before they cannot handle origin i love hindy but in rep games he just dosen't perform simple as that. fitzgibbon well 2 games back and his fitness must be a bit suss.buderus im just glad he is there deadset champ. gower deserve's he spot best half in the comp, timmins at 5/8 the jury is still out on that call. the rest apart from minichello i would waste my time on. but i will say this hornby at fullback will comeback to bite daley and gould on the #rse..................................

Agression, skill...I could probably go on

I actually think queensland have the better side as well and NSW have made some strange selection choices but theres no point rubbishing the players who certainly DID earn their spots - and shrek was one of them.

I honestly don't understand what so many people have against him unless its the fact that he's a bulldog...I rate him easily one of the premier props in the competition atm and I struggle to think of many I'd rather have in our team.
