Seafood extender is the shit. Even though its the seafood equivalent of Devon.

Love prawns, lobster, crab and calimari.

Octopus and squid would be my favourites. I love lobster and in my late teens and early twenties I used to catch them regularly but I suddenly developed an allergy to lobster about 6 years ago. :(

Barramundi is f**king horrible but I love dolphinfish and leatherjacket.

I don't eat scallops, oysters or mussels but one of the best seafood items I have tried is the adductor muscle of giant clams. Had it twice but it is virtually impossible to get (especially in Australia).

Also, seafood extender is awesome, especially if cooked into soup.

I need to learn the names of some fish, clearly. I know there are some varieties I love and others I dislike, but wouldn't be able to put a name to any of them unless they were salmon or tuna. Or goldfish.

Pretty much all of it as long as it is fresh. Mud Crab being the best of all followed by some type of little clams you get in China. Never seen them here unfortunately.

Only things I dont really like are fresh water fish. Tastes like mud unless you drown it in sauce, if doing that why bother with the fish to start with. Smoked trout is the only exception, but it is still shit compared to coral trout.

Also a thumbs up for crab flavoured tripe, I wouldnt eat a big slab of it on its own but I love it in a salad.

I've had some bloody fantastic seafood here, particularly during my month in Lianyungang on the Jiangsu coast. Pity nobody could tell me what some of it was called in English. I've had some fantastic shellfish here that I've never seen anywhere else.

That was probably the biggest surprise for me the first time I went. I was really worried about getting sick & planned on playing it safe & seafood was something I had decided I wouldnt eat while over there. Then when I got there & saw what was available & all of it was still alive I lost my fear. You cant get much fresher than how they do it over there & most of it is some of the best I have had. I still steer away from the fresh water stuff though.

The seafood in Thailand is just magnificent. Make sure you get the spicy + sweet whole fish. The spicy basil / corriander one is a cracker too.

Lived off seafood when I visited my folks in Bangkok, sooooo cheap!
