I don’t think anyone is saying BA is solely to blame. But he is ultimately responsible for the roster, game plan, coaching staff and attitude. He has failed in all of these things, bar possibly attitude. He needs to bare a lot of responsibility for the shit show that is season 2018. I think there is enough failure there to warrant exploring other options for 2019.

Serious question for anyone that cares to answer it...

Before a ball had been kicked this year, what win/loss ratio would be your catalyst to start looking elsewhere?

People have said all those things hundreds of times. In every game day thread. And they are all true. And the coach signed every one of them, a few of them long term.

Sure...I’ll agree with that. That’s the first step. A new coach brings in a new coaching staff, a different game plan and structure, recruits for the intended game plan and the remaining roster is on notice as there are no loyalties or allegiances.

Responsibility ultimately rests with the head coach. They know that. The thing about NRL coaches is they are grotesquely over paid as it is. They don't add any value to the code, in actual fact they detract from the value given how they have coached teams to play over the last 15 years. All they offer is results to the club they coach and responsibility when things aren't working. Brad Arthur needs to articulate what he will bring next season and he has to show it on the field for the end of this season. I think he deserves firing.

I think people reflect on their own real world experience and apply it to their love of the eels. No doubt if a lot of us were in a senior management role, responsible for a team that have severely underperformed, our position may be in jeopardy.

I actually do know a bit about what has transpired with this team. Particularly our off season prep and some other things that BA was advised on and ignored.
