It will be interesting to see what sort of shape a number of our fellas come out of this period in - I have a feeling we will have a fair few who won’t have had the same self discipline as we can probably expect from the majority of the Storm and Roosters squads.
In particular I’ll be interested to see what shape Ramien, SJ, Woods, Fifita, BHU and obviously Duges/Moylan return in....
Duges was supposedly healthy pre-lockdown, Moylan was round 5 originally, but then pushed out a bit - but if both are serious about their careers, you’d have thought they’d have used this time to get their body primed for a big return.

Reading Gal’s book it’s all about self control and staying focused. I don’t think we should be too confident.

When I was a little brat we as kids were engrossed in the space race and men flying in rockets. One day they said we will even get to the moon and return. Back then you could get models, rocket toys and heaps of neat stuff.

Fast forward why doesn't Mission Control Central HQ with Flight Director Pearce hook into the financial windfall that is out there right now and start producing NRL Space Flight models and minatures. We could have the likes of Cam Smiff and Boyd done up in astronaut suits a bit like how Mr McMahon did it with the Hulk Hogan, The Rock wrestling dolls.

We could rebrand all those old Thunderbirds are go Rocket Ships and call them FlightNRL 1, 2, 3 and 4.

There is a huge window of opportunity here and we really need to get into it before me chinese cobber over at Higate starts turning back on the production lines.

Space Mission Control Huston NRL has suffered a slight setback in the proposed launch date. The Empress from the Kingdom north of the Tweed has today introduced new powers and have given the enforcers of the law the power to fine anyone that gollies $1,000 on the spot fines and if they dispute the fines and take it to court they can face penalties up to $13,000.

Crikey I'd hate to be the first box headed NRL forward astronaut that let fly with a bushmans hanky whilst under the glare of 15 sideline cameras. Poor bastards will get hung.

But are we ready to go, what have we been doing? Please tell me Williams has been working on his passing game. Chad and coach has been working on game management. And that yoga is back into the training regime.

I'm not a player of the game of RL , though watching it for yonks now, it always amazed me why players had to spit out on the field so regularly! Imagine having your face pushed into the turf that was holding some other players big gollie! I even witnessed a recent game where a player (Ethen Lowe?) had a technicolor yawn as he got up from a tackle - roll in that boys!
FYI Checking the injury list for Sharks on NRL - Moylan is set to be back with Xerri and Dugan on 28th May

"It's safer now to play then it was in round two when we were playing. The daily infection rate in NSW was 25.79 per cent when the last game was played. https://www.sharks.com.au/news/2020/04/28/nrl-announces-20-round-competition-for-2020/

The ARLC announced:

  • The first two rounds of the competition will be counted and the current competition ladder remains in place when games resume;
  • The competition draw will be determined in the coming weeks, including the timing of State of Origin;
  • Strict protocols, known as the Project Apollo protocols, will be introduced for players, club officials and staff, and will be tougher than the current public health guidelines;
  • Players will face sanctions if they breach protocols.
The first point is a great decision imo. Gives a bit back to the authenticity of this years comp which might seem a bit farcical at this moment but by the end of September, all things going good in the Virus stakes, I don't think it will matter much what has occurred in the beginning.

“Players will face sanctions if they breach protocols”

From what date, hour or minute? Players might strike if it is prior to this weekend where it is meant to be open season for the community to go and visit loved ones - whether related by family or dirty money

The NRL are saying that they are going to use Jubilee Oval for games as its close to the airport.
Who is paying for the hire of the ground? The NRL?
If so, does this mean our club has lucked out again (also with the Leagues Club payments) and we wont be paying for the hire of Jubilee??
