Or will they even win one? Seems like every time they get close or are on a roll they choke up in the GF. I think the shock loss last night will hit them hard mentally and despite their impressive roster for 2010 they will bow out in the semi's.

Looking good for next year imo .... i mean how often do we see grand finalists back up the next year ? Frequently - got to lose one to win one they reckon ..... then add a dash of Poore ,Tahu and Shackelton makes for a bloody good shake for 2010.

Just in case you haven't reached puberty yet, we have actually won 4. Next premiership should be your question.

The bookies say 2010. ;-)

Kudos to the Eels. They did an awesome job to make the GF. That shouldnt be discounted. They deserved to be there, through all their hard work.

They came up against a Storm side that was beaten 40 nil in last years GF. Nothing was gonna stop them from getting it right.

The Eels of 09 should go down as one of the greatest Parramatta sides of all time for what they achieved this year. Look at the players in that squad. They would have beaten anyone else but this years Storm.

Chins up Eels fans. I would be dead proud if they were my team.

Shock loss? I thought they were the underdogs. Why was everyone betting against them?

And yeah, I'm proud of them. The were fighting to not be given the spoon midway through the season. First team to be placed 8th in the finals to make it to the GF. Got the job done on 1st & 2nd & played a great game against the Storm, awesome comeback, full of momentum, 6 points down, 5 or so minutes to go, but Fui had to rake the ball. Oh wait.

Awesome second half of the year Eels, and I can't wait for next season.

i recall a similar discussion with a friend regarding the tigers whom he supported.

in '04 he wondered when they could possibly win a title & how old he would be if / when it happened.

we certainly both thought saints would win a title before they would.

ah memories....

Who cares really? As long as we keep knocking the dogs out first! It seems to happen every year lately :lol::lol:

I actually read somewhere today, todd lowrie will be leaving the eels to go to the storm in 2010, he played strongly in many of their games and will be a good buy for them.

I can definitely see a 2010 eels premiership with the new rep-playing recruits and their strong desire for redemption. Dan Anderson will have all their kinks worked out in the off-season and I can see them dish out some punishment in 2010.

As I know a lot of dogs supporters, and they take the piss out of me, as Im an eels supporter, they always remind me that it been 20 odd years since the last eels premiership.

My response is, that as long as its the eels that knock the dogs out of contention every year, then I dont care if its another 30 years before they win a title.:crazy:
