I still hate the way we are marketed!!!!!! Its the local Derby and all ia quiet in the Shire! No flags , bunnting or advertizing boards on President Ave or The Kingsway ( last time I drove down them) nothing on the Highway. Ok a couple of pages in the Leader about both teams. We need to revisit Super League and work on our promotion. We need to look at our 'brand' and promote ourseleves outside gods own country. The Sharks are unique not a manufactured team like melbourne or souths. Lets get someone who knows what they are doing in marketing now!

Opinions, as stated, can be expressed openly and recognised as not that of the CSSC but the individual poster. It is not, has never been, and never will be our place to govern that.

There is no new development, other than Reefy trying to cause trouble for a supporter group of which he is not a member (and that is my individual opinion!)

ok cheers macca. pretty much as i thought. thanks for clarifying, just that a few people seemed somewhat unnecessarily twitchy about reefy's post so it got me to wondering.

ftr i have also noticed that there has been a change in attitude / tone from many members of this forum towards the club admin' in the past few weeks, coinciding with a couple of good wins, some positive financial news and a few chats with greg pierce.

myself being a prime example thereof, i don't feel it's anything to be embarrassed or defensive about. obviously there's still many problems at board level, as has been pointed out at great length here in this forum, but reason's for greater satisfaction and confidence have been more evident in recent times.

long may it continue, but let's not become overly complacent with a few minor improvements if a total overhaul in the club's administration, as previously suggested, is still what is required for the club.

& I won't be.
After seeing Nulla2's original post announcing the birth of the CSSC, I thought the CSSC was about the formation of a pressure group/supporter group, & was very happy to see it. I applauded it.
I thought it would be controlled by the young blokes I see on beer hill.
I thought it would be democratic.
I thought that democratically elected committee would have the power to influence the club.
Instead, I see people who are not the future of the club in charge & in all reality, do not reflect the target market for new members. Young members, who could possibly be the future network for controlling figures of the leagues club.
Instead , it is a group running in paralell to the official group.
So, I am a little disappointed.
I get on the pizz & yell my head off at Sharks games if I'm with the guys in the CSSC, or if I am standing by myself at telstra stadium.
I wont get to many games this year, so if i'm going to give my 40 bux to somebody, I think I will give it something official from the club. A hat or shirt for my nephew.
I wish the CSSC all the best, but its not for me.

And why have I been painted like the devil just because I spoke up on one occasion?
FTR I think Barry is a "good bloke" no doubt but the way certain things have been handled at that club are boo-able offences!

They've recruited very well since the idea was released.
They've been amazingly successful and organised.
You wouldn't understand the time,effort and enthusiasm that would be required to make anything like the CSSC work!

I gotta say Reefy this is a very harsh criticism and Ill step in here on behalf of my mates in the CSSC.

From the outset the CSSC have ALWAYS said that they are going to be a group who were going to increase the profile/noise of Sharks supporters at AWAY games. They have NEVER claimed a political agenda or marketed themselves as a pressure group.

Now, I have my criticisms of the group (Basically because I am a social misfit who feels alienated in any social situation) but I cannot see where your grounds for criticism lie. In fact they are baseless.

These guys have done a good job of solidifying and focusing passionate support of the sharks better than any group have ever done, EVER, and you want to have a shot at them? Youre a disgrace. Maybe you should call Macca, Thomo or Dread and ask them a few questions about their intentions because your ideas are misguided at best buddy (At worst, they are f**ken delusional).

And Im not even a CSSC diehard. I havent been to an away game with them, and probably wont and have stood with them twice.

I dont even think it is criticism.
I may have mis understood the intentions of the supporters group.
FTR, I think the youg blokes are doing an excellent job. & have done an excellent job at setting the group up.
I think the older members maybe should have volunteered for official club & helped the clubs official group.
I told Frenzy as such but he maintains he is not part of the committee.

Sounds more like you are having a shot at some members you don't particularly like and camouflaging it with rhetoric.

Who gives a rats how old people are in the CSSC and who is organising them. I couldn't give a stuff if they are 10 or 100, they have gotten of their rings and done something to promote the team, help support the team and organise Sharks fans to get to away games in particular. This "official" club group you keep mentioning could barely organise a bus the last couple of years.

If the clubs official group had done anything the CSSC would probably never have come about.

I too won't get to many games this year but galdly joined up as any group of people who want to take time out to try and help out fellow shark fans, promote the team and have some fun is OK by me instead of sitting about and whingeing all the time. Top effort guys, doing a great job and it is appreciated by many.
