Where do you hide carney in defence

Stick him next to gibbs or gallen. Get him in the middle. He's easier to hide there.

His biggest issue is his inconsistency in defence. It's killing his outside men. He needs to mark one bloke, run up & take him around the legs.

Its f**king simple & it takes the least energy out of him.

Why is it that you merkins can fix our problems but our coach can't? f**k it is frustrating. We may not have Lewis ready to protect him but there are a bunch of other blokes who could do it.

I don't think Carney is fit enough to make legs tackles. came into the season with a dodgy hammy, a dodgy calf and has an existing Achilles deficit. I reckon his legs would explode if he tried to go low.

Also, I don't think Fifita is anywhere near 100%. No frikkin leg speed or thrust at all when he takes it up.

He should have no issue mentally considering people go to work with a lot more pressure on them does Fifita.

People go to work through divorces, people dying in family, fear of losing job and Fifita's only concern is he going to get $700k instead of the over the top amount of $800k.

At the moment he is playing like a player who should be on a lot less

Can you just go back to Newfoundland or Nova Scotia or Numptyville or wherever it was you went when you were in your SSB68 incarnation?

You are a deadset c**k.

Look at how Christ Sandow rips in in defence. Carney isn't small. He has no excuse. It's an attitude issue.

A better comparison is Brooks. He has a poor technique as well. But he commits to a tackle. Carney isn't doing that. His decisions in defence are erratic & that causes Ayshford to stand deep, in case he has to cover defend on the inside (which is not Ayshford's role, that was coached into him by Sheens)

I've heard the saying "defence is an attitude "

That reflects on Carney very poorly.

Up to coach Sharp to bring him into line & build his confidence. Not sure the relief teacher can do it.

It took Brooks 3 weeks to fix his technique, now he's hardly targetted (only had to make 9 tackles yesterday and missed just 2).

He doesn't hit hard, he just commits to the tackle, uses his line speed to rush up and essentially annoy the player with the ball and force them to pass early.

Carney needs to commit to one action and do it everytime.

If he's going to rush up, do it everytime and rush at the player receiving the ball, If he's going to be a sliding cover defender, then put him in the middle and let him sweep behind the defensive line.

At the moment, he does a bit of both and its chaos for everyone in the defensive line.

Carney's biggest problem is he goes to high.

Saturday night he started hitting the legs and committing himself.

It's all mental for him, he just needs to work hard all week at training. I still think his leg is an issue as well.
