Where does Benji Marshall Rank as NRL'S 5/8's?

Dykes is a proven class player... anyone who rates him by his form @ Parra is just ignorant...

He was also Dally M 5/8th in 2001...

Marshall's creativity stems from Prince 99.99% of the time and you know it...

And anyone who rates a passing game by no-lookers, flicks, speculators etc. is kidding themselves... otherwise M.Gidley would be hailed as the best passer of the football in the comp...

So the two tries he set up against the Sharks came from the .01% of creativity you believe that possesses without Prince?

Bob Fulton had good things to say about Marshall. But I guess he wouldn't be a great 5/8 according to your standards.

I don't recall Benji playing for Melbourne on the weekend.

Irrelevant in this debate.

This weekend you may be back to sh*te.

I was responding to this question:

It hasn't been going too well lately has it?

I have no idea.

Quite like your football knowledge then...

Ask their supporters if they'd like Marshall in their team.

He plays for the Wests Tigers, just in case that fact escaped you.

Have a second go at reading it, and if you still don't understand... consider going to school:

Just face it... If Marshall was a Sharks he would be an outside back, just like he would be if he were at Brisbane, St George, Bulldogs, Storm, Cowboys etc.

Oh dear, I've been sunglassed again....

Got no clue have you...

I always put it at the end of my posts...

You should have replied after you read the definition of "stems from", or at least have had some clue of what it meant...

Yeah lets rate players on how they performed 4 years ago.

BTW Daniel Wagon is clearly the best lock in the game, much better then Kennedy, Carol, Harrison, Timmins etc

If ever there was an apples and oranges comparison... this takes the cake for mine!

IMO, Darren Lockyer, Trent Barrett and Jason Smith are yards ahead of him.

I would have him about equal with Braith Anasta and Jonathon Thurston, now he is playing 5/8 again. He's definitely in the top few, which is quite an effort for such a young kid, in the next 3 or 4 years, providing he stays injury free, he'll be battling it out with Jamie Soward and John Sutton for the title of premier 5/8 in the game.

Yes, you were.

But before last weekend you were crap for a number of weeks. That you think on one performance you've turned the corner......

BBSF ?

I'm sure I've forgotten more about it than you know.

Well, I noticed that you spelled "Leichhardt" incorrectly on top of misreading my reply.

What school are you currently attending?

Yeah, I know.

It's that you feel the need to do it that I find funny.

You obviously think it's cool, I think it's because you probably have a small penis.

Where did I say that we "turned the corner"?... I merely said that we turned around a 46-6 loss with a 40-16 win; indicative of a small revival... most would agree... would they not?

What part of that don't you understand??! Do you even know what an outside back is? Or let me guess... you forgot right?

I dunno, it looks to me like you were saying "sure you belted us like a New York pimp belts one of his whores who's witheld the cash, but we're back on track now"....

Don't think it says what you're trying to suggest now. [-X

Que?

You were rattling on about Optometrists near Leichhardt.

I don't live near Leichhardt. I'm from the other side of the merger.

Your Football knowledge, unfortunately for you, is here for all to see.

I could write what you know on the back of a stamp and still have room for The Illyad in Times New Roman 12.

Adam Dykes.....

McSharky if Marshall was a Bronco Lockyer would still be a fullback. If he was a Dog, Anasta would be a Lock, so would Hill if Marshall was a Storm player, Marshall would also be starting 6 at the Cowboys, Roosters, Raiders, Knights, Rabbits, and if he wasn't in the 6 for those or other clubs, he'd be in the 7.

Kiwi, incorrect, Mashall wouldnt get a gig ahead of Jason Smith, my only solution if Benji was at canberra would be to move Croker to the 2nd row, smith to lock and Benji partnering Carney in the halves

Benji cant play half IMO as he doesnt have the organisational or kicking skills to play half.

Thats what I was refering to with the Raiders, Smith would be played at lock to make room for Marshall. I know how much Raider fans love Smith now, and fair enough he has been great for the club, but a blind AFL fan would be able to see Marshall would push Smith to Lock.

Smith could play half 69. He pretty much did for the majority of this year, only he wore the number 6.

true and before about 2 months ago a 7. Smith 6. Benji would have been an easy solutioin. But hypothetically atm Carney is going from strength to strength every game and would completely dash his confidence to drop him. Croker is playing more like a 2nd row these days anyways. Smith's can easily adapt to lock, whilst a Benji- Carney combo would be a highly exciting one to watch IMO

I see what you mean. It's all hypothetical really. Kiwi's point is that just about all the teams in the NRL would find a way to fit Benji into the halves. I think he's pretty much spot on too.

If Marshall was a Raider junior do you really think the management would have signed Smith for this season as a 5/8? You would honestly pick Smith ahead of Marshall for next years Raider's line up?

Dart Bobo i still rate smith above benji, but if benji were to join the raiders smith would almost definately got to lock
