Where have all the hard men gone

What has happened to all the games hard men eg blokes like( MG,Peter Kelly,Les Davidson,Ronnie Gibbs,Geoff Bowden. our game just doesnt produce guys like this anymore.Your thoughts.

Game produces a few (Morley, Tallis to name a couple) but the game isn't played the same way now as it used to be. It is now all about workrate and defensive effort and metres gained.

what about Danny Nutley? His one of the smallest blokes by my god he can not be hurt. He just throws himself around and always tops the tackle and hit up counts.

Your right you don't see them anymore, the game has stamped them out. Watch out for a bloke from Canberra called Big Bad Ben Cross. Record last year. 2 games in first grade - 2 suspensions. Plays like MG too

What is your definition of a hard man? Someone who plays dirty? Someone who picks fights? Someone who plays outside the rules? Ryles fills those roles :lol: :lol:

Seriously though, Campion, Tallis, Webcke, Wiki, SeuSeu, Croker, Sattler to name a few. These guys would play with limbs hanging off for their team, most of them have played with injuries that have kept others out, one has come back from an injury that ended anothers career, that makes them hard men in my books.
