Where is this game heading?

First they sack the best administrator the game has ever had, then they ban the shoulder charge, they are losing corporate sponsors like no tomorrow and now they have let rugby swoop on Izzy!

What a shambles the beloved game of rugby league is in

- gallop wasn't that good ( he wasnt that bad either).
- shoulder charge totally ridiculous. Just keep cracking down on contact with the head.
- f**k izzy. He made a career and a bucketload directly shitting on league and trying to pilfer juniors. Let the rah rahs have him.

Totally agree izzy is a soulless dog. Look at the fact he is from Western Sydney and played for QLD. He threw the game under the bus by going to AFL in western Sydney and not he has tricked Parra.

He is a dog who can enjoy wasting his huge talent while making megabucks. "Poor bloke" pfft

Izzy went for the money like anyone would. If any of us were in his boots we would have done the same.

Snoop, I think the bloke might of already had a handy little stash from his exploits with League - then AFL.

I can honestly say if it was me and league was the game that I loved then I would be playing league not yawnion.

Its not like he was going to sign for league for two flat stones and half a pie. Hang on Spaz did that with the stains.

Money wise with Izzy and league he would of been on money that you and I could only dream of.

"anyone would" is a stretch Snoop. I'm sure Inglis would of been courted. He didn't go. My brain hurts right now so can't think of anymore examples but there would be many, I'm sure.

As to "us", well we are all dreamers who haven't had and won't have the chance so it's easy to say we would all do the same.

I honestly doubt I would. I hate AFL. I hate Yawnion. I hate soccer. No amount of money would get me to poison myself by playing those codes.

Besides, if you are good enough and truly worth the money, you'll get it in league. Somehow. Some way will be found.

Lockyer on $300k in his last year. Official figure. Spare me LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

Izzy was never going to sign with the Squeals IMO. He and his management have just done what you, me and others have whinged about before. Played one off against the other.

The game is bigger than Izzy Bill Folau and will survive his not returning.

He's only a fuggen winger

The game is fine.

In fact I like most of what has occurred.

Israel has made fool of himself and will continue to do so.

League is on the up.

Hayne and Inglis. Both were courted by union and came out and said they would be happy to stay with league. If I recall correctly Hayne was quite strident in saying that league was the better game and Parra were struggling at the time.

And it's not even like these guys would starve if they stayed with league. They have all been offered very, very healthy salaries with long term benefits, legacy jobs with sponsors and endorsements. There's big money at the top of the tree. The only ones making sacrifices are the Matthew wrights of the world who earn bugger all to hit it up into front rowers, when as soon as someone with more talent shows up they'll be playing At Henson park.

In 10 years time, I see players becoming their own Brand, and so on that basis, I see players signing contracts for x amount of per game rather than signing for seasons.

And I also believe that players could play for 3 or 4 clubs within a season of football.

There will be far more cross code jumping, particularly for bigger tournaments - World Cups.

In terms of Rugby League, 4 quarter football will be introduced at some point in time. I also see the future Rugby League players wearing the same type of playing kit that they wear in the NFL. This decision will be made on the basis of a serious injury from a head clash at some point, and the Medical people will enforce the use of head protection.

As I have stated numerous times, the day that we win a Premiership will be the day that I can walk away from the game because it a completely different game that we all loved and grew up with.

expect to see Folau in Eels colours next year. once the talk of Jap rugby contracts being included in the cap, it was always going to happen. That is why SBW waited to announce. Izzy will prob go year to year contracts.
