Hard to argue with that article. Just need to go back to the basics. We are capable of going on a run but realistically we win 4/9. With all the guys back sets us up well to make a run in the finals.

Other teams will get injuries. They will bring the top few back with us

I agree our season is not over, but there are very worrying signs from Saturday. One good win would get some confidence back in the playing group we can only hope it is against the Warriors this Friday night.

This has been a strange season in many respects. We had some good wins early on coming from 14 point deficits but they probably glossed over the fact we were poor leading to being behind in the first place. A few other win's have been decent without ever looking like a real top four side and that only leave's us with our only real 80 minute performance in beating the Dragons.

For me nothing has changed in our attacking structures over the past two and a half seasons. and we appear to have no plan or idea of what to do when attacking inside our opponents 20. Frankly it does my head in watching us in good attacking positions only to offer nothing and on most occasions not looking like scoring.

Saturday in particular was frustrating. Against the 2nd worst defensive side in the comp we could only manage a barge over by DWZ.

Near perfect conditions for footy as well.

We have the origin halves. If they can break QLD down why not a club side? Brandy is part of both coaching structures too. Blake we make a huge difference

I agree all though that try was a well set up play by Cleary. No idea why he doesn't do it more.

When our forward pack is dominant, we have been able to get away with our deficiencies and win more games than we have lost during Anthony Griffin's reign.

Against the Sea Eagles, other than Dallin's try we basically through nothing at them and they had no trouble at all defending against us.

Waqa Blake may make a difference because he has power and pace but anything he creates will most likely be as a result of his own endeavours and not likely to be a result of a creative set play.

We have beat 1st and 2nd this year when is the last time we have done that? The bench and back 3 struggling is our main issue atm.

We beat West Tigers 14-2 the week before our best victory against the Dragons. A lot of fans were buoyant by the intensity around the Tigers victory. I came away very disappointed because it was another example of how inept we were in attack. The issues you refer to are a direct consequence of our horrific injury toll throughout the season. The bigger issue however is not being able to convert field position into points and that I am afraid has been an issue for us for 2 1/2 seasons.

The thing is though, no team is playing great footy at the moment. Saints, Melbourne & Rabbits all should of lost as well & it’s not out of the question they could go through a similar run to us. They are all full strength at the moment too.

I stand corrected but I don't think Saints, Melbourne, Souths, Roosters or the Sharks have played as badly this year as we did last Saturday.
Without checking the stats I doubt any of them had a lowly 33% possession rate either in a match this year.

Both wingers bombed certain tries. The chances were there for more the structure is so much better. remember 5 starting guys were missing on the weekend. Give the rest a freshen up and we will take some beating come September

2 games in a row that is the concern

6 from 8?

Pretty hard to beat a near full strength Warriors with us missing ~10 guys. 6 from 8 is damn near impossible. We have a pretty tough run coming up.

Manly, GC, Canberra, Knights won't be in the finals. NZ and Broncs are winnable if we keep guys on the field.

If we can somehow snag a win in the next 2 weeks that will help very well

I am hoping we can jag a win or 2 by round 20 to stop the noise, provided there are no more injuries I hope we can go on a run of wins once Sauce and Blake are back. We have a hard month coming up we just have to get through it.

I certainly didn’t expect us to win tonight, particularly not like that. It was a dominate victory.

It is all the more remarkable given how absolutely shite we were against Manly.

I think we rneed to win 5 more to be certain of a top 4 spot. Tonight has made that much more likely than it was seeming last week.

Sharks will be a much bigger challenge. They are going to put up much more resistance in the forwards than the Warriors did - I can’t see us being able to physically dominate them in the same way.
