I love the chicken salt KFC uses. i was looking at it the other night and it actually looks like salt (i.e. small clear crystalised pieces) as opposed to stuff i've bought from the supermarket before which looks like yellow powder.

anyone know where to get the good stuff? ;-)

It's what makes their chips tatse really good. I have a feeling it's the same as Red Rooster's as they taste similar.

My mate is right next to me, and he works at KFC.

The only way to get the goods is to get someone you know from there to steal you some.

Much like my friend is doing for me. :)

I still want to know what the 11 herbs and ingredients are in the chicken myself.

I know that ginger is one spice but that's all.

The other day down at my KFC I bought a large chips for $4 I think and I asked for extra salt to be added and it actually spoilt the chips.
My chest weezed and I became dehydrated and was in urgent need of a drink.

That expensive new fillet stuff from KFC is nothing special.

I've found with KFC it's baked today and not soaked in grease like the old days.
It tasted better when it was greasey.

We like the devil wings.
And you're a sucker if you come along and purchase hot chips if they've be sitting there for an hour.
Yuck.
You can't beat freshly cooked fries eh?
Yum.

P.S. I popped these Codrial day and night tablets yesterday and I became sick as a dog too.
My back went white and cold and I nearly vomitted.
Be careful.

Re the 11, would pepper and salt be two of them?

Ha when I was in year 12 my mate started this rumour around the school that his mum was a big player in the KFC circles and one person knew only one spice. These 11 people weren't allowed to travel together hahahaha.

Have you personally tried this recipe yourself?

I don't have a deep fryer at home.

What's rubbed sage?
Will normal sage be fine? Does it really have to be rubbed?

Marjoram leaves? What are they a cousin to bay leave? What are Marjoram leaves?

Ginger isn't listed in that list.
Someone swore to me ginger was in it.

In answer to Pierced Souls original question about KFC salt I doubt you'd be able to buy it any where.
I bet if you walked into a KFC outlet anywhere and asked they'd flat out smile in your face, hesitate, then so no unfortunately.

Ask M.Parki from Newcastle, he knows people in the know.

hmmm i'll do an armed robbery and jump the counter, grab a salt container and bolt :sarcasm:

that sucks you cnat buy it anywhere. unless it was a specific formula like their 11 herbs i cnat see why it cnat be sold.

someone try the recipe and let us know if it works ;-) if i try it i'll prob end up poisoning myself. of course if it does work i'll end up eating it everyday and poison myself in a diff way (but not before being a huge burden on the taxpayer )

You definately have to steal/smuggle the salt out the the store. If anybody needs blueprints and layouts of certain stores, just give me a PM and half of what you take. I've never found a similar tasting salt in my life...

If this sh*t was listed as a commodity, we could corner the market with this information.

All you need to do is put 1 part chicken salt (the powder) to 1 part salt and mix well.

Tastes exactly the same.

Its not harder than mixing cinnamon and sugar to make your own cinnamon doughnuts at home.

Are you sure it's the salt that makes the difference, not the chips?

I'm 99% sure it does. That is because when you get chips with little salt on there they taste awful, but when you see them put a big shake of it on them they always taste much better, unless they put too much on like Brett said .
