blake had not run for months due to a bad ankle injury, and had a solid 80 minutes, brazier is playing very good but is no blake. joe hughes was a bit quiter than usual but when in form, the best american foward. the best fowards on the field was danny bull and the curly haired second rower who was the most dangerous foward on the field. i believe he is an aussie. ryan mulligan made as many yard as brazier and is just as good a defender. besides the hooker the entire knights pack is american born now tha adam sharples has gone home and cietat and astill are injured.

Joe Hughes is a good player, but is no where near the runner or the tackler Will Brazier is. In fact there were multiple collisions between the two when Will simply ran over Joe. Will had a much louder game than Blake. Ian had not played a lot of Footy this year, and it showed on Friday night. If we are going on form Will has to be the top american born forward in the Comp.

I think you are both underestamating the southern converence.

Will Brazier is know were near an Ed Woodbridge (Bulls), Shayne Mains (Bulls), Joe Becker (Bulls), Jason Rocco (Slayers), or many other players.

Will is a solid player, However he is not the top American Forward. The Bulls have a player that played against Will in high school. This guy would love the chance to get back on the field with Will.

T-hawk, Woody is good but can't break the gainline or off load. Maybe Chief and woody were better in their prime (i stress the word maybe), but not anymore, in fact not even close. Will has many many more aspects to his game, like off loading, support angles, and being able to play 75-80 mins of game, not just playing offense or defense or being part of the Bulls rotating 30 players. The second best can easily go to Mike McGecky, who is bigger than Will and has tremendous pace and skill for such a large man.

Tomahawk there is more to RL than being a good college football player. Also if you played in a Tomahawk game 3 years ago, it does not cement you as a dominent force forever.

There are no doubt some good players in the Southern Conference, but the game is played at a much higher level in the North. They have this years 3 top teams, Wildcats, Knights, and Warriors.

Slow Front Rower. Given that I have not witnessed any of the apparent "Higher Level" personally this season I am not going to comment on the northern teams. I will however atest that the Axemen, Bulls, Sharks and Slayers (at full strength) are all contenders this year.

The Axemen had the Bulls at 22 to 18 at half time in our game at Glen Mills. Yes, a tough second half but they do rotate well when in trouble.

I disagree that the game is played at a "much higher level" in the North and I certainly know that "The Game" is making huge steps forward here in Jacksonville.
Please be respectful to those teams you know nothing about and try not to discredit the efforts we are putting in.
I would match my guys (especially the forwards) up against any in the comp.

Spinner, I don't want to take away from anything you guys in Jacksonville. What you have done this year is nothing short of amazing, however maybe its cause we have more funny talkers, or that fact that the contingent of the Knights, Warriors, Wildcats have been improving by leaps and bounds since 2002 that speed and skill of our game is higher. Example, the Wildcats have lost 6 games in 4 years. (2 of them in the Grand Final) The NY Knights have 2 ex NRL players in the Halves and Warriors are the scariest looking team outside of NZ.

If Jacksonville can bring in 1 or 2 stud halves they are an outside favorate to win the Comp next year.

This year I think is our best chance (wildcats) we are bigger than we've been in previous years, many of us have been playing together for 3 or more years since the Wildcats started. The win on Friday night in NYC was the best I've seen or been a part of in the AMNRL. (FYI Cats 32 NYK 20)

slow frontrower;

1st – Everyone has their own opinion, and I can respect you saying that Will is as good as you think because he is a teammate. Will is a very talented player, but not the best American forward in the AMNRL.

2nd – I would take the Pope’s over Will anyday.

3rd – If you have a set of balls, next time you see Woody or Chief go up to them and tell them both that Will is better then both of them now, and maybe even in their prime.

4th – Jason Rocco for the Slayers is another person you missed.

5th – Let me name a few other players from the Bulls that I did not mention; Brian Cofner, Joe Beacker, Mike Edwards, and Kevin Deal to name a few more. All but one our players who have played on the Tomahawks. Two of them played in the game against the Australian’s.

6th – I really think you are under estimating the South. You have seen them play in what 1 match, and that was down the shore. A full strength Jacksonville team could upset the Knights, Warriors, and Wildcats. I would even go to say that a full strength Slayers team could upset a couple teams. Then we all know the Sharks will their full strength can upset any team in the AMNRL.

7th – A team made up of guys from the Northern conference lost to Cambridge University by 2 points. The same team that beat you guys lost to the Bulls by 24.

8th – The Bulls are a different team then what you guys have ever seen before.

2. I heard the popes are awesome. We'll see them at the All Star game.

3. When Will ran over chief in the Grand Final last year I guess that wasn't enough.

4. We'll see what happens this weekend.

5. Those guys are pretty good, except for Kevin Deal, he is awesome. I think most of the Bulls guys are pretty average, and some are terrible, excpet for Kevin Deal, Chief and Woody, Easy E. (not including the forgieners) But we are talking about props, Will is 22 faster and more athletic than Woody and Cheif, and has other aspects to his game as noted earlier. And again I want to Stress he plays 70 minutes of the game, he doesn't come off every 3 or 4 minutes like a line change in hockey.

6. Tomahawk, you are nuts.

7. That was a game to showcase younger talent, If it was Wildcats v Cambrige wouldn't have been close. Also by your theory the Bulls can beat the Tomahawks by 40 points. One thing to note, its a lot easier to beat a team in its last game on tour, 3 games in 7 days with lots of drinking. You are right tomahawk what was I thinking, based on that game alone our confrence is crap.

8. Does this mean you will rotate 40 players in the final instead of 30?

I think the team with the most talent it NYK, they just haven't been playing together very long, and the season is really to short for them to play to their potential.

1. The Pope's are very solid, and will only get better each year.

2. We will see who make the tomahawks for the World cup, chief or Will.

3. i think the Wildcats will beat the Slayers easily this weekend. However, you will find out just how good Jason Rocco is.

4. Kevin Deal is just an overall athlete. He is awsome in every sport he plays. As for the Bulls being average, why have they won 6 AMNRL Championships, 2 consective. I would have to say that is better then average.

5. I don't remember the Bulls ever suiting uo 40 players. We don't even have a 40 set kit. If I remember the year the Knights won the Championship they suited up more players then the Bulls. If I remember correctly two or three years ago when the Bulls played the wildcats up in Conn. your guys were exchanging jerseys, because you had so many players.

T'HAWK

I like your 2nd remark. Are you suggesting the selection process for the national side is rigged. Reminds me of Manly in the ARL with old Kenny boy.

I remember the bulls suiting up 28 in the Grand final last year. The reason you dont have 40 jerseys is because the game is supposed to be played with 17.

Hasn't chief retired after the past 2 seasons?

I did not say the bulls are average. I said most of the players are. Add Niuy and Vassy, and a few other forgieners to any team they become better, way better.

Do you mean JC Rocha? If so I have played against him in League and Union, big guy, no Will Brazier.

Oh yeah, the game we won by 50 points over the bulls, we wanted our high school kids to get game time. We do not have line changes for offense and defense the way the bulls do.

Loser;

1st on your comment about me bitching for a year about the Grand Final the Knights won, I will agree with you I have bitched about that match, and still think that match should have been played later that night. Saying that, you cannot take that championship from the Knights. The Bulls had opportunities in that match and did not follow thru with them.

2nd on your comment about the Tomahawks team being rigged, I would not know. I am not part of the selection process. However, do I believe that certain selections were the wrong section, yes? However, that is just my opinion, and it really does not matter.

Slow front rower;

Yes the Bulls suited up about 28 players, just about the same the Wildcats suited. I believe we had about 3 more players suit then the Wildcats.

Correct me if I am wrong, but Shayne played all but maybe 5 matches last year. And he has played all but like 4 this year. Just because someone says he is going to retire does not mean there is nothing left in his tank. If Shayne thought he could not play anymore he would not play. Is role as a starting player has changed to an interchange player.

Yes I was talking about JC. I think his play is going to surprise you. Hopefully he will be able to make the trip.

As for the game I was talking about I did a little research. The final score of that game was 42 to 24. If I did my math correctly that is an 18-point difference. You were of by more then 40 points. Here is the link to the article if you want to check it out; http://amnrl.com/news/061803.html.

cheif doent need to be compared to will. they are different styles of fowards, will is strictly a front rower, chief an impact back rower. cheif is old enough to be wills dad and has been lighting people up and scoring tries internationally for alot longer than will. will has had one good year. i would run at will 100 times and not be concerned, but i will always glance to where chief is. that is an intangible will doent have. mcgecky will have a good run if the team is on a roll but puts the gone fishin sign up when it gets a bit hot and tough. he may mouth off, but really he is as soft as a soufle. i like will because he will mix it with other fowards. he is in the top 5 american fowards. the warriors best fowards are not american born

well done spinner, with all your local talent.

Spinner;

I would have to disagree with this is not doing the AMNRL any good. I believe it shows that there are different views about different players. The same things happen in every other sport. Their has not been any derogative to any people, or as their been any name calling, ect.

It is a debate. That’s all it is. All the real talking is done on the field. It shows that we are very compassionate about this game.

T-hawk in the last 2 finals we suited up less than 20 both years, with i think 18 last year. I know its legal to have a never ending bench, but your team proves it with its line changes.

I know who he is, Will is Better.

That game was from 2003, not 2004 when we were changing Jersey's. It never found its way to the AMNRL website cause we beat you so bad.
