Creagh is f**king garbage. I used to rate him quite a lot but I just haven't seen him play a good game in years...

How/why have they picked McGuire when is is ineligible ?

All I can think is to give him experience training with the squad, but has been told he cant be picked. Congrats to him through. He has been a gun the last three months and will play for QLD and Aust in a couple years time.

Don't think Hannant deserved it to be honest, he looks to have been playing injured all second half of the year. I heard he had a broken wrist from somewhere, any truth to that?

I think Parker has a real shot at making his test debut.

Creagh and Watmough have been average at best over the past month or so ... and compare their season with that of Parker who is at the top of his game in terms of attacking metres, offloads and defensive effort.

If positions for Australia were chosen on merit alone, Parker should be among the first picked ... but I suspect politics will take precedent and NSWers will be awarded the positions to boost their quota.

I thought Watmough was one of the best against Brisbane.

Parker should make the squad though.

McGuire could still be eligible, it's going to a vote. It'll be a good news for Queensland if he's allowed to be selected. Which will probably mean it won't happen.

Congratulations to Darren Lockyer, Sam Thaiday, Jharal Yow Yeh and Corey Parker on making the Four Nations squad.

Bit of a joke that the both McGuire and Hannant didn't make it considering who they picked instead (Shillington).
Anymore info on Hodges injury problem?

Concerns about his hammy.

I'm glad he withdrew, I'm sure he could have played and would have wanted to play but by giving himself a full pre-season he gives himself the best opportunity to get himself fit and healthy in 2012. Just as long as there isn't any pot-holes around.

I'm also fine with Hannant missing out. He seemed unfit all season and needs a long preseason.

McGuire is a bit unlucky, but it was always going to be an issue getting clearance from the RLIF in time. Hopefully they still clear him so he's available for rep. selection next year.

Sheens seems to love Shillo. Personally, I would have gone Lillyman but I'm glad to see there's some incumbency around, hate it when players are selected for the sake of it. Like B. Stewart and T. Williams.

I'm also fine with all those players missing out from a Broncos point of view. Hodges and Hannant do need the longest preseason they can get. We also don't need McGuire on rep money just yet (get some consistency first).

I'd also like to see Australia win though. Those Broncos players >> the players in their place.

On the NZ side of things, I see most Kiwis aren't including Glenn on their team lists. Would be disappointing if he misses out, had such a great year.

Indeed, I just wish he would have selected better non-Broncos. Personally I would have gone Hopoate in front of Stewart and Tim Mannah in front of T. Williams or even D. Taylor. It's the fact both were chosen that does my head in.

Feel sorry for Glenn, that Kiwi backrow is a tough nut to crack. Hopefully he's included as a squad member.

I think they should have picked Tonga as there is only 2 centres in the squad, both of which have battled injury all year. Surprised to see Shillington there, and Mannah and Lillyman missing out. Ballin should have gotten the nod over Farah, but that'll never happen while Sheens is coach.

McGuire has been cleared by the RLIF to play for Australia, so I do think he has been hard done by. For the rest, I agree with the Broncos players selection, but cannot understand how 3 FB's and 3 HB's were selected, and only 2 centres.

I would expect Glenn and Beale to be selected for NZ, and Glenn may be a chance of cracking the 17. Can't see that happening for Beale, unless there are injuries...

I think the squad is very curious. Seems like anyone not playing finals was forgotten, which I suppose is fair enough, but still... Can't see how Tony Williams makes a 3rd string Aussie squad, let alone the top one.

I wouldn't have picked Boyd, considering we have two fullbacks already. I would have thought Tonga would have been a shoe-in...he can cover the centres and wing.

Only three full-time frontrowers - Scott, Shillington and Galloway - although Thaiday and Gallen can fill that role.

Agree - Hannant was below his best all year, and Hodges needs a break and looks to have entered a new phase of his career where physios are suggesting he takes regular breaks throughout the year. As long as he plays Origin - that's the main thing.

Kite could consider himself unlucky not to be chosen over Williams.

I would have thought not selecting Brett Stewart would have been much more acceptable.

+1

Admittedly he's played well since being shifted into the forwards....... but there's still a lazy merkin hiding inside him, waiting to come back out.

Did Hodges withdraw .....? TBH I'm happy he and Hannant missed out. Be great to have these guys raring to go come 2012.

Congrats to Corey......well deserved and Yow Yeh has now cemented one wing spot for some time to come. He and Uate are pretty awesome to have on the flanks.

Out of the newbies.......really pleased for DCE. I'm sure he'll make the most of his opportunities.
