When we were not at the games, I would listen to the radio. If Parra were not playing in the broadcast game, I would change the channel waiting for score updates about every 10 seconds. Always listening to the call "now, we go around the grounds". Back then, there were about 4 or 5 games on at the same time.

I used to love being at the games, especially at North Sydney Oval as a real youngster, and listening to the 1/2 time scores from other grounds. It didnt matter where you were in Sydney (other than Brookvale), if Moanly were leading at half time, everyone at the other grounds would boo.

Good times! I miss that!

yeah it was cool when they used to read out all the other scores and people would boo or cheer

and yeah i remember listening to the radio on days when parra weren't being called but just only really paying attention each time they'd say the score from the other ground - it was still fun!

ahhhh the good old days

Half time came around, and dear old Dad asked me if I wanted to go home...

Told Dad, that we would stick it out for another 10 mins & see what happened.

My Dad and I did the same, except I think he was asking if i wanted to go because he could see how upset i was!

A comeback from 22-0 in those days is worth more than a 22-0 comeback now I reckon, and the Raiders game would go close to pipping Penrith (so long ago it's hard to compare!), but out of the three options in this poll I'd have to take Penrith.

Manly was good, but was more arse than class. Canterbury were in front and then we mowed them down and that was it, but the Penrith game had it all - full house at suburban ground, talk of whether we can start another run, we weren't actually playing that badly (at least in defence), and of course Jarryd's unbelievable performance and miracle try. I can't recall the Dogs game having a moment like Jarryd's which you thought was the icing on the cake. Then Penrith hit back and you've gotta love any try at the end that comes when you are holding on to a lead and you know that is actually the real icing on the cake!

Its a good 3 options, we all hate Dogs/Manly, and Penrith seem to think we have some sort of rivalry, but really they're just the annoying little brother. I was at that Dogs game & at Penrith last week... i'd have to go with the Dogs one :) - Manly's earlier this year was marred by that forward pass...

Parra were beat 28-8 their only game against Knights that year.

Your main man was playing, and Michael Speechley at 5/8th. (Not even Bert could have saved that one I reckon).;-)

I dont actually recall a massive comeback win like that against the Knights - or are you just playing silly buggers?:D

Just had a look - 1992 - Parra win 22-16, Stu GODbraith at 1/2 & The Natural at 5/8th. Joe Bartolo 2 meat pies, and Lee "Faster than Chariots Offiah" Oudenryn 1 try. Buetts 5/6 at goal. (Tom Brown at fullback? 3 appearances)

Must have been that game, then. Bloody hell it was 17 years ago so I'm not gonna remember every detail...

My best memory from that was school on Monday. Owen Richards and myself were just blabbering about it all day. The picture in the paper the day after was of Kenny and GODbraith with their arms around each other and the biggest smiles on their faces.

Getting a win back then was cause for celebration. Coming back from the dead to win was like a Grand Final.

We didn't have to many wins that year. I remember that game fondly 2nd best of the year. The best was when we beat the poms.

Fairly sure the game he is talking about happened in the middle of the season.
