As a matter of interest I was just wondering which country would have the greatest representation of players born in a particular nation. I heard the Irish winger, Danny Blanche, interviewed and he had an Australian accent.

My guess:

1, Australia - Players in all teams
2, England - All 3 Home nations sides
3, NZ - NZ, Tonga, Samoa, Australia
4, France - France
5, Samoa - Samoa, NZ, England

Interestingly enough this may well be reflected in the way that the teams end up finishing.

What do you think?

France? It would have about 18. Australia and England would have all of their own players plus England produced most of the Irish and Scottish squads while Australia produced some also, as well as a heap of NZ, Tonga, Samoa and Fiji players. So it's Aus and England with upwards of 50 players each or more then NZ with maybe 30-odd and then probably PNG with 20-odd ie most of its players), then France and probably then Fiji with Tonga/Samoa close behind and Ireland with about 5 and Scotland 1.

It's a toss up between France, Australia and England.

PNG would have to be right up there to, and Fiji wouldnt be too far behind. If you include qualifiers, then i would guess that Georgia would probably have taken the title, although Holland would have been up there, too. And Russia would not be far off. For that matter the USA have a lot of players born in the USA. It seems a pretty silly question really. The only countries who dont have most players born in their own country are the islander countries, where there is an obvious cultural identity maintained. And probably some the British countries where RL is only played at a very minor level and they need ancestery players to spread the game. Lebanon/wales are probably a 50/50 or worse call but they are taking big steps domestically, and the domestics are strengthening all the time so it seems like it is obviously a good thing.

Sorry, I misinterpreted the question. I thought you meant "Which country would have the most players (playing for said country) born in their Nation?

Is there any team that has a starting squad of players who were all born in the country? Can't think of one.
