Which RL player from the ghosts of Christmas past would you like to see return?

Rambo Ronnie Gibbs - would probably last about 4 matches under the new rules before being rubbed out for life. We'll never see the likes of him again (along with Sirro, Igor, Roberts, Chief, Spud, and all the rest)

Ellery Hanley - he was a bit of a star and not many internationals (other than NZ's) have been nominated. If he was playing today then Sydney Confidential would never have heard of Sam Burgess.

Brett Kenny - I think he'd make a handy fullback in today's game

Ali Lautiti - so disappointed when he went to England.

Hmmm what Panther would make all the difference to the current side.

You'd have to pick Brandy, circa 1985, who was a magician really, and still only a kid.

Or someone to toughen up the forwards, a Geyer or a Matt Goodwin.

Or someone who inspires, such as a Chris Mortimer, who I believe played his best football at Penrith.

So what, you don't want to punch on or even discuss a subject, just snipe. Thank your lucky stars I don't give a f**k about your habits or movements

On the contrary, I enjoy discussing topics with those who are worth talking to. The irony that you suggest people snipe at you. You give as good as you get.

Thank my lucky stars?

On the topic, used to love watching Cliffy Lyons and Menzies at the height of their powers.

From other teams, Joey or Sterlo for halbacks were brilliant to watch.

Supposed you have noticed that I don't make a habit of following people on the forum just to ridicule them, that's just 'too f**king easy'. I never instigate anything vitriolic but that doesn't mean if you want to declare a verbal war I'm not up for it. By the way, I talk about all teams and coaches, I'm also a big fan of Toovey and Manly . . . and I do like a slice of well cooked pussy

You sicken me.

Would have been amazing to see Nik Kosef without the knee reconstructions.

Menzies' 2005-2008 self, by then he not only still had most of the speed of his '90s self, but he'd also developed his ability to read the game to a ridiculous level, as evidenced by his ability to play 5/8th (even though he wasn't a natural half) and work as well there as he did as a 2nd rower or centre.

If we could add Spud Carroll to our forward pack this year, we would be unbeatable.

Imagine a forward pack containing Spud, Sam Burgess and the twins. So much go forward in attack and limitless aggression in defence.

Steve Menzies circa 2002.

Carried the side by himself for most of the year. Absolute colossus of a footballer. Work precluded me from heading over to Europe to watch the last matches of his career last year. :(

Richie Twist, a Brisbane wests player who's career was cut short from high tackles and head-knocks.
He was amazing, the other player i would love to see is Gordon Tallis, nobody came close to the raging bull, not even Sammy Burgess.

Tim Brasher in his Balmain Tigers days. Rhys Wesser 2003 and thereabouts. Noa Nadruku and Ken Nagas 94/95 together.

Gary Larson, Greg Florimo, Billy Moore. David Peachey.

Way too many to name.
