Sk it’s still one spot to fill is it? I’m a bit lost with all the comings and goings Guessing we must have few $$$ in the kitty yet, so wondering who they have their eye on to bring into the fold? I’m thinking halfback/hooker utility but guess time will tell

Yes, one more spot.

We were at 30 with the arrival of Montoya, but since then Paasi has been confirmed as an out-going so back to 29.

A lot of these signings just feel like replacing existing players with slightly worse players because new = better

Also, I think that Ewen Atkinson, while not the best player would probably be considered one of the top 10 specialist centres in the game, so it's pretty cool to have a top tier out and out centre next year.

Is it an unpopular opinion that Hiku >>>>>>>Aitken? For me Hiku is our top centre and it's not even close...there's an argument there isn't another centre in the entire comp more adept at putting his winger (or himself) in from a 2 on 2 situation

I'm a real fan of a Hiku and what he brings, but I can't remember the last time we signed an 'out and out' center of this quality. Must have been Tate I guess.
Couldn't believe that we were looking at getting rid of Hiku, and he was only given a 1 year contract.

Don’t think it is, but aside from his strengths Hiku has some fundamental problems too... but he did reduce them this year

Brown did a lot of chopping and changing at Newcastle, mostly it was shit and looking at their side now he didn’t develop much talent either, most of the reasons they’re a decent side were eventually bought... like BMM being a good NRL prop, Brown being a good NRL coach or a club builder are stories I don’t find compelling

Only players I'm really excited about coming are AFB and Evans.
Even then, Evans will need to hit his full potential.

Anyone wanna have a go at what you'd like to see come Round 1?

I'm hoping we still have atleast one big signing over the preseason - there's still some merry go round with other clubs releasing players to be had I feel. Aside from this I would go with:

RTS
Fus
Hiku
Aitken
Maumalo
Nikorima
CTH
AFB
Egan
LAM
Tohu
Katoa
BMM (Option B Murchie)

Lawton
Jazz
Evans
Bunty (Option B BMM)

I kinda like option B, BMM impact off the bench and Murchie showed a lot on those last 4 or 5 games imo

It’s a decent looking team, should be in top 8 mix

I remain astounded that people look at it and think 9 is the problem rather than 6 and 7...

beyond that I think Fus should start out of the first team until he proves he’s doing the hard yards... his talent is big, performance small and we didn’t miss him

On TV1 news last night Cam George said Paasi was let go because of fitness issues. Brown said he wanted the team back for pre-season fit and Paasi wasn't.

This is basically spot on until we know what Brown wants out of the lock position. Does he want the skilled option (Harris), the big option (BMM) or the smaller option (Tevaga)

Yeah just saw this, 3 year deal.

I don't really know much about him, how does he go?

A bit confusing for mine as we have Tohu, Katoa, Murchie, BMM, Jazz and even Curran as back rowers.

Seems a bit more than just a depth signing

I would really like us to take a chance on a hooker out of the UK super league. Theres got to be some talent over there flying under the radar. I see the Knights just picked up someone and the Raiders have had outstanding success. Why not take a chance on someone?

He’s been pretty good this year... and good genes...

imo only Tohu better, although Katia has unreal potential
