Just a suggestion for the poll creator, Johnsy ... mate next time you do a poll, there is an option/checkbox or something there that says "make the poll public". Always check that, so you can see who voted for who. It would have been really interesting to see in this poll i reckon
I havent really decided on a dark horse yet. I dont think any dark horse can win the comp this year. I think it will go to a top 4 team as there are four REAL standouts in the forward pack department this year in my opinion. This will be a forwards year ... ie HARD defence.
All i can add to the discussion is the teams who i consider a "dark horse"...
Cronulla - They have a coach who is big on defence. A worthy dark horse suited to the style of hard defence this year. But no way can they win the comp with their attack ... who knows, they may unearth someone ... rugby league is a great game, anything can and usually does happen
Tigers - They are a dark horse simply because i believe maybe the big defensive teams could end up beating the crap out of each other by years end, and the Tigers who have a fast and mobile forward pack could take advantage if their forwards could play a bit longer. Thats the big if ... the reduction of the interchange doesnt really suit the Tigers' fast style ... but who knows, i still consider them a real dark horse.
Penrith - Great forward pack. Probably the team with the best forward pack of all the dark horses. Provided they dont lose interest. While their forwards are doing well, they are still in the hunt.
Dragons - Jamie Soward is a Winner. An enigma of a team for sure, but gee how could you right any team off with Gaz and Coops in the centres, a decent, strong forward pack, and a budding wizard in the halves (sorry thats my own bias from watching him play for quite a while when he was playing for the Jets hehe) ? They are capable.
Titans - Probably unlucky to miss out on a top four spot, and i know i called them "The Real Deal" earlier in the year, but unless they learn to win away they cant be seriously considered. The second half of the year will test them, but i think they'll pull through and finish around 5th or 8th. 5th if they start winning more away matches, and 8th if they dont. Anything can happen in the finals.
Eels - Last week was VERY promising. However i need to see more of them play with Inu back. Its almost like they are a different team with him there. Not a big fan of their forward pack though, and i still believe that NO TEAM with Brett Finch in the halves WILL EVER win a GF still rings through to me.

So many options ... so many different styles. It'll be fun to watch tho
