My favourite team is the Sydney Roosters, because they represent the highly cultured people from the Eastern Suburbs.
My second team is the New Zealand Warriors, because they represent the oppressed Polynesian peoples of New Zealand.
My third team is Toulouse Olympique, because it represents the future of rugby league, which is the south of France. Unfortunately Toulouse is not in the NRL, and not even in Super League yet.
First up Alby . . . you do know it was the French that did a whole bunch of oppressing of the Pacific Islands ?
Yeah, I'm going for Tolouse Olympique too. Duh . . . who wouldn't ? They are the future of rugby league, don't you know ?
Also, I have it on good authority that the
pique component of Olympique is representative of a style of knitting fabric that is used especially in Polo type shirts.
Now, the French are big on polo shirts ( La coste, Ralph Lauren, his sister Lauren Eagle that takes medicinal everything, and of course Pierre Cardin ) .
Actually, the French invented polo shirts it seems.
So, logically, the Olympics were discovered by the French. But New Caledonia was more fun than wrestling naked Greeks, so they stuck a flag in it and called dibs.
Unlike the French, the Greeks are very hairy as a rule, so the French turned a blind eye to their wive's armpits and map'o'Tassie and invented a shirt to cover all those hairy Georges.
Now, for some strange reason should you want to shave your wife, you would probably use the disposable razor . . . brainchild of the Frenchman Henry Jean Paul Sharon Bic.
That is why the Sydney Roosters are my favourite team. That, and the whole cultured thing. That's why.
