Who can make the pack?

Just want some encouraging thoughts to what our forward pack will look like next year and why? And will they be big enough to stand up to teams like South & Roosters. Also will they have the ability too keep punching the line so that our play makers make the most of it?

My pack would be
8.hunt
9.King
10.creagh
11.Frizzell
12.Thompson
13.Merrin

With rotation of
14.rein
15.de Belin
16.stockwell
17.Harrison

We showed this year that we can go toe to toe with packs we beat souths and knights who have good packs. If we get our kicking game right then we will go much better this year

Not too sure about Hunt and Harrison.
Dan needs to show he if fit and ready, and Harrison for me hasnt shown much.
Expect big things from de belin nexy year, and frizell.
Still, one more impact forward missing IMHO.

Merrin
King
Debelin
Frizzell
Thompson
Creagh

that would be my starting pack.
Hunt not good enough IMO to start. Bench spot.

Concerns - the pack lacks size, aggression and intimidation factor. Apart from Merrin we also lack genuine ball players to initiate second phase play..
Poor recruitment during the last 2 season has resulted in our pack no where near the quality it needs to be ... and the fact that we now leak plenty of points backs this up.

IMO merrin needs to back to the front row. I think it should look like with the current roster:
8. Merrin
9. King
10. Creagh
11. Frizz
12. Thompson
13. De Belin
14. Garvey
15. Stockwell
16.????
17. Whoever out of Harrison, Cooper, ah mau, Matthews, Groat

I like that pack and hope the 16 is filled by the "another Pommy Prop". Sadly, unless there is a change in coach, that pack will never see the light of day. I can't see Rein or Hunt being left out.

People say we lack size and aggression but I think JDB is underrated in that regard. Hopefully Creagh can also put on another 5kgs and we will be sweet.

Creagh playing up front has done well and bends the line. It was one of the good things price has done this year. We have plenty of good young back rowers now we need the front row sorted. Creagh and Stockwell with a few extra kgs next year will be good I think. Another quality front rower with experience would be nice though. But if any of Groat, ah mau, Matthews or Cooper step up that could work too.

Indeed, why? Unless you know something about him that suggests he is that good he shouldn't be included just because he's signed on. Not by us armchair experts anyway.

From what I have seen & heard Cooper is a good fwd. Can't see why the club would bother signing someone from over there if there wasn't something good in his resume? Then again who knows? I expect him to be in first grade.
