BK for what he went on to produce.

Timana for where he went, I hated Parra so much at the time, used to work with a Parra fan he was a dickhead.

Midley because he was my favourite player.

I think bedsy deserves a shout. I was really sad about the circumstances he left in. Should have been a one club man, he was still easily better than degois when he left.

I don't think any individual player leaving has ever hurt us too much but losing BK and T to other clubs and having Parsons and O'Davis retiring - losing all 4 at the end of 2004 left the club reeling resulting in that 2005 season.

I sincerely think Johns going down in the semi in 2002 cost us a premiership. I'm certain we would of easily accounted for the Roosters and Warriors with our full strength side. 03 and 04 even with Johns we started to slide but in 01 and 02 we were near unbeatable with Joey and BK fit. My point been a 8 week injury to Joey hurt us more than any player we've ever lost to multi year deals elsewhere.

You can add a grand final appearance in 2000 as well (if not a premiership). It would have set up the clash of the ages. Knights vs Broncos. I was at the preliminary final against the Roosters and felt like I'd had my guts ripped out in the second half.

That was because the wok changed our defense to the umbrella style a week before the game and Fitler exploited it.

Johns saying he felt they could of beaten the Broncos was disappointing though.

I was at that game too. 11 years on and it still hurts!

I honestly think they would have had the best chance of beating the Broncos. The Chooks minus their starting front row still came close.

We were our own worst enemies losing against saints in the final round though, costing us the minor premiership and an easier first game against Canberra at home. Had we won we probably would have played the roosters in the semi and the winner of NZ and the broncos.

Although THAT game against Canterbury cost us two points as well.......

Wonder who'll leave the biggest dent in the team if they went down injured... Kidley, Uate? Perhaps Boyd?

I'd say Kidley. His work ethic and attitude seems to inspire other blokes around him. His execution in plays may not always be spot on, but the fact he's constantly getting involved seems to lift the rest of the team.

Uate and Boyd are our x-factors no. 1 & 2 respectively. I predict between the two of them they will be accountable for most of our tries scored next year.

But for overall impact on the performance of the football team, I don't think you can go past Kids. He will run Bennett's game plan and will become our glue at halfback (a bit like Hornby).

I remember the days when Uate used to ned his own trainer, because every time he was hit in a half decent tackle he needed a trainer to spray him with magic water before he could get up.
Now, I'm pretty sure he picked up a minor injury in the test match, but played on without hardly anyone noticing.
Was a time he'd need a stretcher for that.
