Coote is just as talented as both Locke and Dugan although both his small frame and injuries (I suppose they're one in the same) have held him back. From all reports he has really bulked up, hopefully we will see just how good he was.

Not sure what place the likes of Moltzen, Mullaney and Stapleton have in this thread...we're talking about (young) elite fullbacks here.

Dugan needs to add five kg's to his frame so he can break the tackles and stop attackers more effectively.

Despite his relatively small stature, Statistically he's second only to Jarryd Hayne in average tackle breaks per game. And his defence at the back has been impeccable so far. I'm quite thrilled to have such a great prospect at the Raiders, easily the best of the NYC graduates thus far.

Locke is good but not at Dugan's level, and Coote doesn't impress me much. I'll be interested to see if he can change that this year, but my general feeling is that he'll end up being a superstar junior but an average first grader.

I think he'll be awesome this year in a very good Raiders backline.

Agreed, it's going to be exciting to watch.

And Locke hasnt yet played in his preferred fullback position in the NRL. Locke can play .............. But I do admitt that when I first saw Dugan just like I did when I first saw Locke I thought he was a special player. In all honesty 3 years from now I wouldnt be suprised at all if Locke and Dugan were both International reps against each other in the Anzac test.

Locke can dance and Motor, and Dugan has that natural break and bust the line mentality

I like the looks of both Locke and Dugan. At this stage id say Dugan is ahead and will probably stay that way, not to say Locke will be bad at all though.

Notwithstanding Hayne, Dugan and Locke are the most promising fullbacks in the game....Personally, I think Locke is the better player, on account mainly of the fact that he's more a natural ball player than what Dugan is, and the fullback in today's game is becoming more and more of a second 5/8....Josh Dugan is an immensly talented footballer. I just think that Locke is better.

In terms of other players, have a look at Will Hopoate from Manly (although I think that he'll end up on the Wing like his dad), Gareth Widdop (who could be everything that Dugan and Locke are becoming as we speak) and Jake Mullaney.........

But it'll all come down to who wants it the most...

I love Josh Dugan. He carried the Raiders through quite a few matches. His defence at the back was brilliant.

I feel safe as with Dugan at the back and his defence is only going to get better. He is also rather brilliant in attack. All players bring something different to the table and what Dugan brings to the Raiders is exactly what they need.

If Dugan continues playing the way he did last year he is up there with all the great fullbacks playing now (Slater, Hayne, Stewart) and above pretty much everyone else!

Dont sleep on Gareth Widdop. Good enough to be a starter now and as far as ball-playing #1's go, he's already the best in the NRL.
