Who is the worst “marquee” player in the NRL and why is it Ben Hunt?

Hunt back to "form" yesterday. After 5 minutes you knew saints didn't have a chance in that game.

Look, I love him as a player but without a doubt it's Latrell, for the sheer fact he's only been on the field for 60% of our matches over a 5 year period now.

If he's on $1m a season, that's effectively $400k pissed down the drain each year, or $2m in total.

Hunt might be rocks and diamonds but at least he's there every week.

Shitpostery aside, Hunt is such a weird case. Like he's clearly a genuinely good footballer. I don't even agree that he's not a seven, although he might be better at hooker. Statistically I think I've heard commentary that he's had his best season ever, or at least in terms of the number of try assists....but he's just offered nothing all the same.

I just think he's completely cooked since 2015. Any minor pressure or setback and he melts like there's an actual blowtorch on him.

He’s a pure 6 or 9 because he needs to be playing what’s in front of him. Forward planning isn’t something he’s good at, especially under pressure.

He is terrible at playing what is in front of him under pressure too.

IIRC last year against the Raiders on the try line needing to score on the final play he went for a crash play against a set defence.
