I agree that there are plenty of Penrith fans who have been acting superior and
arrogant, and you're right.........I'm NOT one of them.

But I have also put up with tons of taunts and insults over many many years from
Parra fans too, but I have not responded with insults or agro.

I have always done my best to respond with good humour wherever possible.

I know full well that my team could just as easily end up back down the bottom
of the ladder again.........anything's possible, but I'm enjoying the ride while it
lasts. I'd be mad if I didn't.

And if there are Penrith fans who are being rude to you, then go right ahead and
treat them however you please, but don't automatically treat all their fans the same way.

I don't. Take two seconds to read a post properly, and treat each comment on it's
merits, and there would be a whole lot less agro and a whole lot less misunderstandings.

BTW........Good luck again against the Goosters. I hope you kick their butts.

And you can...........anything's possible.

.

I read the posts before I respond. I have a lot of friends who support Penrith, and most of them are people who feel for me. There are some, though, that bag me.

There are few certainties in life, but here is one: footy is a religion. And I know that Parramatta fans are one of the most demanding and passionate breeds of fans around.

How you define passion is up to you. But I think passion is living and dying by your team - and no question, everyone on here does that.

Sometimes we go too far - I myself have before attacked others. But the fact remains - I and my fellow Eels supporters are tremendously passionate about our team (for isntance, for me, the best time of the entire year is March through to September; the game makes or breaks my week), and sometimes we misread posts and act upon instinct.

I think it would be a shame to lose an honest, open-minded opposition fan like yourself due to an error and misunderstanding, but if you so choose, then so be it.

Hey Eelementary,

I'm as passionate as anyone about my time, and I have cried bucketloads
of tears over the years in happiness, sadness and pure frustration.

I know how you feel.......really I do.

But I guess it's just me. I try to save the worst of my frustrations and anger
for the Penrith forums, where I can vent about my team to my heart's content,
and then when others come and harass me, I have already had a little time to
calm down and can handle any taunts carefully.

Geez.........if deep down you all really love me this much.......and all that agro was
just a smokescreen, maybe I should do you all a favour and hang out here every single
day ???

It's ok...........calm down...........I was only jokin' with ya...

no that would mean potential eel and panther cross breeding???? ;-)

and both clubs have already been down that road (or isle) and then changed their minds (or got out of it)

so best to leave it at that

i can handle having both eels and panthers running around.....better than having "eelthers" or "pantheels" loose in Sydney's west???? ;-) :D

I actually have two friends who are engaged and expecting a baby,
and she is a Penrith fan and he is an Eel fan.

Saturday nights gane was bad enough watching them together, god knows
what sort of battles they will have in the years to come to see who wins
out in the brainwashing of the poor kid....

I for one welcome opposition fans who I can have decent discussions about football with. I respect Penrith and their fans, and that is why I said it. You made it sound as though you wouldn't return, which ultimately may not have made me cry, but it would have been a shame nonetheless.

I am not excusing the aggro, but I can understand it, as sometimes I get a tad aggro and because of that I do not read the post correctly. It is all bourne out of frustrtion really.

So true........and all footy fans have to put up with so much of it too.

Bugger it.....I blame the footy players. It's all their fault.

If they played great all the time, then we wouldn't have a reason to get
angry or frustrated would we ????

Yep........that works for me....

So you really do have feelings for me then ???

Oh gosh........I feel all warm and fuzzy inside now...
