I reckon Lewis should be, not because we want another "Lewis" to captain an Origin side, but cause he's proven in the past few seasons what a key player he is for Penrith, NSW and Australia. He's had an outstanding Four Nations campaign and his best season for Penrith. Moving him to the backrow was the best thing for him. Since hes got more involved he hits it up 100 miles an hour, puts in the big hits and never gives up. A true clubman, and just what you need in State of Origin.

If the selectors name another stupid line up for NSW this year and name someone like jarred hayne as captain or something, im just gonna give up on origin all together me thinks

Well said mate, agree with all your points.

For some reason i don't even think Lewis is considered as one of the favourites for the captaincy though.

From what i have read it seems to be between Gidley and Gallen.

His name only ever seems to come up on here. To me it seems the most obvious solution but the papers and selectors only seem interested in talking about Gallen, who arguably is too undisciplined and has public image issues, Gidley who is a total nuffie, Hindmarsh who is past his best or Pearce who is too young.

Gallen, or Lyon.
If Lyon was passionate about the Blues I could understand him being considered. But he isn't and for that reason alone shouldn't be anywhere near the list of candidates.

For mine he shouldn't even really be considered for a spot if his heart isn't in it. It's a shame though as he is great for Manly.
