So any player who's team is in the semis and is changing clubs is a selfish arsehole if he announces that he's going ? FFS.

Are you joking??? They have signed Kris Keating on a massive deal! This will prove to be the worst signing in living memory.

Question is - how can the Dogs afford all of these players?

Every time I read that someone is on the market, Canterbury are nearly always mentioned as being interested (even with an article on Horo that I read).

Where was that Macca's again? Im going to sit out there and see if anyone drops their bag, and see if I can score some $$$. (Or at least a M&M McFlurry!)

I think I might go get one right now. Thank you NSE.

Adamson is spot on, Prichard had been on massive money for years producing when he feels like it. They let Graham go so they could afford Pritchard. And he signs 2 weeks out from the finals with the Panthers in it up to their ears. 400k for a lazy albeit talented enigma, seems very similar to the Mateo situation........

The Bulldogs recruitment and retention team. At least they know how to sign good players.

You have to look at the players they've lost in the last 5 or 6 years.

Price,
Asotasi,
Mason,
O'Mealy,
Thurston,
Anasta,
Tonga,
SBW,
Reni Matua,
Hannat,

Although not all of them are due bad retention. A few were due to other walkouts and such. Still, most of those players have left at the top of their careers and almost all of them have played rep footy.

So yeah, i think the dogs retention is terrible. But they can certainly recruit well.

This has been going on for years. Why the f**k is Matt Admason carrying on like a pork chop about this?? Seriously.

And for the record - I have always hated Matt Adamson. I can't even remember why - but I despise him enormously.

Exactly.

I think the problem is that Adamson is a little hypocritical. He's not exactly the ultimate club man. If the comment came from someone like Brandy or Simmonds it would have a little more substance.

I agree with Delboy and would strongly argue that we need only one key signing - an experienced halfback, or at least one that will not take much time to start guiding a side around the park.

I reckon we have all of our player losses covered and really just need the remaining bunch to be guided around the park by someone with confidence and ideally experience.

Mateo will be ably replaced by Horo, the return of Shackleton and Timmy Mannah's rise will easily cover Cayless. Jono Wright looks like he might be ready to step up to a regular starting berth in the backline and would be much more reliable than Inu.

Rumour is Jono Wright will sign with the Dogs as well...

In RLW yesterday they mentioned that a few clubs were interested in Eric Grothe, one of them being of course, the Bulldogs.

And also we can't say that Horo and Mannah will replace Mateo and Cayless. Those two players already fill valuable roles in the team, if they replace other players then new plaers will have to take their roles. We have Te Maari and Lasalo debut this year but not really any decent props.

If he does, then we can simply slot in Loko over him, although i'm not exactly sure how much depth he brings into our backline over Jono Wright. But, he can be replaced.

Our prop rotation will still be just as dynamic, tbh Caylo hasn't been playing in great form this year, so impact-wise having 1 less prop won't be as dynamic as people seem to think.

Well our depth in the backline will be tested next year IMO but there are a few players who can fill in the backline the problem is they have limited experance.

TBH, after the crap year that has been 2010, i'm more than prepared for a few games to be thrown away early next year just to have our rookies develop.

yeah i understand that, but that's also why i originally mentioned Shackleton, who will be like a new recruit in 2011. He'll make plenty of tackles and hit ups and has plenty of 1st grade experience.
