yeah i understand that, but that's also why i originally mentioned Shackleton, who will be like a new recruit in 2011. He'll make plenty of tackles and hit ups and has plenty of 1st grade experience.

We hope Brad, we hope....

You have to look at the players they've lost in the last 5 or 6 years.

Price,
Asotasi,
Mason,
O'Mealy,
Thurston,
Anasta,
Tonga,
SBW,
Reni Matua,
Hannat,

Although not all of them are due bad retention. A few were due to other walkouts and such. Still, most of those players have left at the top of their careers and almost all of them have played rep footy.

So yeah, i think the dogs retention is terrible. But they can certainly recruit well.

Yes but how many of these players have gone on to better things
Thurston yes, Anasta about the same performance. Hannant may be about the same at broncos.

Expect him to take awhile to get back into his paces next year. Season ending injuries are no laughing matter, A Minichiello went from the worlds greatest fullback to something that barely resembles a shadow of his former glory, all on the back of season ending injuries. Same applies to Brett Stewart, next in line for the Australia no.1 Jersey after Minichiello and has now had 2 consecutive season ending injuries. I doubt we'll see the best from him as well.
No doubt that Shack is a hard worker, but regaining form after a massive injury takes a long time.

Ah of course Shackleton, although I think he is better suited to a back-rower type role, I guess he, Hindmarsh and Horo can share the other front row spot.

I guess that leaves a pack of Poore/Mannah, Keating, Moi Moi, Hindmarsh, Smith, Shackleton. Mitchell, Horo, Poore/Mannah, ?

It doesn't matter if they have improved or not. When they left the dogs you could only judge on past performance. You couldn't predict what they were going to do.

They only have 2 remaining Premiership players, and most of the others are playing with other clubs. And players like Price, SBW, Mason and a couple of others were superstars when they left the dogs.

The dogs are like a revolving door. They get some good players, but they lose alot aswell.
