Who will be the Parra Scapegoat this week?

Whatever helps you sleep at night. By the way, I was referring to the Marshall dive, not the Farah one (which I didn't see).

As I said elsewhere, I believe players who are the victims of blatantly foul play should be entitled to stay down and receive a penalty. They should not be punished for the referees' oversight. I was merely pointing out the hypocrisy of St George fans criticising Farah when you have Nightingale, and Soward for that matter, engaging in the same conduct.

Haynes attempt at that bomb reminded me of the one in the 09 GF when Inglis took one similar to score.

This is why Hayne shouldn't play 5/8
He has defensive lapses
He should have also made a better attempt at Murdoch marsila's try off marshalls kick

He took a dive against the Tigers at the SFS last year and at Kogarah again this year. On each occasion he feigned injury to enable the video ref to review the tackle. Once the penalty was awarded he made a speedy recovery. If you're going to criticise Farah for staying down then you have to acknowledge that Nightingale is guilty of the same conduct. It is beside the point that Nightingale was deemed to be the victim of foul play because so was Farah. Each received a penalty.

Yeah, a shocking game. Did you watch the game, or just read what those fools wrote in the Telecrap?

In the NBA when a team is down by say 30 (just like the eels) and there is no chance of winning it is called "garbage time".
Hayne played about 10 mins of garbage time to bring up those "wonderful stats"
Up until the 65th Minute he did SFA.

Stats --

The stat that qualifies the Hayne stats.

In the last 15 minutes of the game the Tigers had the ball for a grand total of 44 seconds

I somewhat agree, but conversely given the possession finished almost even (48% Eels - 52%Tiges) this also means that for the first 65 minutes the Eels probably only had the ball for 15 minutes, yet apparently Hayne should have stamped this authority with no pill.

Not saying that. Saying he only looked to get involved when one side had clearly clocked off.

Casey has limited ability as a half but he tried his guts out yesterday. Hayne seemed content to wait for opportunity rather then seek them out. For the first 60 odd minutes his real involvement was putting up bombs and that is it

Or the third possibility is that he just can't regulalry reach the level that he achieved in the Eels 2009 golden run. He set the bar so high for so long that unless he is at his absolute best, he just looks second rate.

Back back to my original point, the majority of the Eels were crap yesterday, but Hayne was one of the better players.

Dont get me wrong, i dont expect him to carve up every game like 09, i know what you are saying though. Just little things too like i dont think he is as lively or as fast as he was in previous years. It might just be me though.

Yet, if you watch the game you realise stats mean shit.

5 kicks for 149m? All of which were ineffectual and provide no challenges for the Tigers back three.

His positioning was horrible as was his defence (which I noted you that he missed 3 tackles of 8 attempts - i.e. just under 40% of tackles missed).

His try assist was lucky considering where is pass ended up. He can thank Tonga for having good hands to catch a pass at his ankles... Perhaps Hayne needs to remember to look where he is passing.

At 62.5%, his effective tackle rate could be better, but it was still a better effective tackle percentage than Mini, Inu, Barba, Hoffman & Wright. Slater was only at 66%, and he's supposedly the king of fullbacks. Given he attempted more tackles than any other fullback (Morris also had 8 attempts), and his team was getting swamped for 65 minutes, I'm surprised the stats aren't worse.

Is answered perfectly by the following
In the NBA when a team is down by say 30 (just like the eels) and there is no chance of winning it is called "garbage time".
Hayne played about 10 mins of garbage time to bring up those "wonderful stats"
Up until the 65th Minute he did SFA.

The infatuation with having Hayne play origin is beyond me.

It should be Kearney, 2nd last in 2011 and no improvement thus far this year.

Hayne is playing terrible, I am sure though that we will still have to “find a spot for him” in the NSW side.

So according to you, terrible form is the way to describe being played out of position for one game and his entire team playing horribly for the majority of a game.
Most on this forum were singing his praises and demanding his selection in the NSW backline after the Sharks game. But no, Hayne's the scapegoat for opposition fans.

Who would you pick over him at Origin when he has been their best player over the past five years or so?
How many fit fullbacks, wingers and centers do we have in form with his experience and talent?
Stick him on the wing and you'll get returns.
Or, you can be an idiot like Stuart and not pick our best players in their best positions.
