After reading up a little on this guy, I think you might be overstating his ability. Seems to me that his career started with a bang at Catalans but the last couple years really dropped off, he lost his spot at the Dragons and got a release to go play back up to Sam Tomkins at Wigan.

He’s also 26 and signed until 2020 so if he comes to the NRL he’ll likely be 29 or older.

He may be talented but he’s definitely not going to be top dog after Slater goes. I would rank him somewhere near the likes of maybe David Mead.

Morgan Escare was not back up for Sam Tomkins. He replaced Sam Tomkins for 10 weeks and played very well till he got a serious injury. Wigan fans are very happy with Escare as club full back and want Tomkins moved to the halves to accommodate him. We will see what coach Shaun Wane decides.

Escare is full back for France when fit, Munster is a five eighth or centre and will not get the full back spot in Melbourne because there is a Dutchman in waiting.. Dylan Edwards isn't fit to shine Morgan Escare's boots.

How many games of fullback has Mead played at NRL level. He’s fullback for PNG because they’ve got no one else.

Escare is Wigan’s backup to Sam Tomkins. He’s not as special as you think he is

Munster is a fullback who is playing 5/8 because Slater is fullback. He wants to be fullback. And will be the front runner to get that spot when Billy retires. Even if it’s not Munster, Papenhuyzen won’t be fullback. Hughes is ahead of him
