Souffs right now are the Dragons of the mid 00's, it can be crushing to lose 2 prelims in a row. No doubt they still have a great squad but to turn up with one of the better squads on paper 2 years running and not even crack a GF spot has gotta hurt.

Cronulla are just Cronulla, it's just hard to ever see them winning anything.

Souths will make a gf surely at some stage. Whether or not they win it is another matter. Not sure about Sharks, they have a decent side but some of their players like Lewis, Heighington etc played their best footy at their previous club.

Souths window will be closing soon, Reynolds would be on peanuts and looking for an upgrade contract, Inglis will be wanting more $$$ as well, S burgess is apparently on peanuts too from his first contract so he will be looking for upgrades too, in fact all the burgess boys will want upgrades, this team will break up after next year so I see 2014 as their final chance until about 2020

Can't see sharks winning whilst Gallen is still playing for them

Bellamy's Melbourne took 4 years, Haslers Manly took 4 years. Not all things happen over night

All of this players were upgraded in the last 12 months. Most of them this year. But they are seeking upgrades:crazy:

I agree with Loudy on the Burgess bros. Sam and George are definite keepers but the other two aren't in the same class. They're a great marketing ploy but premierships are more important than that shit.

You're telling me each player in the squad got an upgrade? So what they were 1million under the cap last year? Not each player has had upgrades, winning teams have better players and better players want more money, simple, Souths will not have a winning squad for more then 3-4 years, they've used up two years, 1 or 2 more years and they will then be rebuilding.

Both clubs have less chance of winning a premiership, than Price has of becoming a chin model. Or an actual coach....

Bellamys Melbourne didn't have a salary cap to deal with

The thing is Souffs have happened overnight, they went from no finals to prelims back to back, the playing bunch who do that get sniffed out by other clubs and if Souffs don't have a Wally Waldron behind the accounting they'll get split up.

As a neutral, I think it will be Souths who do. Whilst the Souths line up has some weaknesses in it, the core of their playing group is younger than the Sharks. The Sharks have a lot of players in their early 30s who are on teh books for a few more years, Souths not as many.

That said it will take a few years for either side, in my opinion to make a Grand Final let alone win one

From memory, I believe Bellamy, Bennett and Hasler all made the grand final in their 4th year as coach, and won the grand final in their 5th year (except Bennett who won his first gf appearance)

Based on that it will be another 2-3 years before we get there, provided Maguire is up with those 3 as coaches.

We've got Luke, Sutton, Inglis, Reynolds, Burgess, etc. all signed up till 2015-2017. I am sure we will win one in the next 5 years, hopefully in the next 2.

Sharks, who knows? I would feel sorry for them if my team had won a grand final themselves recently.

Bellamy started coaching in 2003. He didn't win a premiership until 2012.

Maguire has done well but just because other coaches have won a comp after five years :blahb: :blahb: :blahb: doesn't mean he will. He could turn out to be another Brian Smith.

$ouff$ need to get over the attitude that they deserve or owed a GF win.
The "pride of the league" crap needs to go. Everyone thinks their club is best but no club greater than any other.
Everyone else wants one but they seem to have this different attitude and thats why they are funny and everyone loves LOL@$ouff$
