i understand what your saying. I just don’t think Howe’s form during that period was anything close to being what you describe it as.

Howe was playing good footy during that juiced period but I’ve seen countless other better and more dominant periods from middle forwarss by guys like Lazo, Papalii, JWH, Webcke, Petro, Lolo, Mason etc all

Fancy these two being at the same club at the same time. I go Webcke because he seemed like the leader when they were both playing, but not much in it.

Paul Butterfield or Spud Carroll.
You spelt Tony wrong. Both outstanding at what they did, but if I had to choose I'd go Spud.

Mark Geyer or John Cartwright?

Yeah durr. I was thinking of players from the 87 reserve grade side. Yours is another tough one, Hoss by a whisker. Someone else can go next.

memory bank tester...

Horrie Hastings or Scott Gale?
The memory is a bit fuzzy and I was pretty young back then, but I'll go Hastings. I'm basing it on that playing footy in the park with my mates one of them was always commentating himself as Hastings. Gale I remember as being quick, but the main thing I remember him for is the short drop out to MG in the 91gf.

Hastings for sure. Scott Gale had more ability but Horrie rivalled Turvey and Sterlo.

Lindner or Pearce?
Splitting hairs decision on this one - both very capable footballers who got the best out of themselves and their bodies. Both hard as nails but very 'clean' footballers...for an era that was known for niggle and being able to get away with a lot of play that would see you sit out half a season nowadays, they were never about that.

OK - so, based on hating QLD with a passion, Junior Pearce for me but had a lot of respect for Bobby Lindner.

The 2 Gary's - Jack or Belcher?

Lindner for mine comfortably. Badge was more stylish but Jack pioneered the art of saving tries by rolling blokes onto their back so he gets my vote in a close one.

Morley, reckon some teams were defeated before kickoff knowing he was ready to knock 7 shades of shit out of them.

Terry Campese or Blake Austin

Campo, his 2008 season was immense and got him some rep jumpers.

Isaah Yeo or Cameron Murray?
