Yeah definately a great wingers move to score his first try.. Maybe in his head he knows he is better than the Cooks guys so went all out confidence style but in the NRL maybe he is a little scared?

Roopy will flip out when he reads Lamb listed in over 40

He is suppose to be the under 20s version of James McManus!

I dont want to see Aku run one inch sideways all season in 2010. Sure, swerve, step but dont try and get outside a first grade line from the middle of the field by running sideways, not when your agile and 100kg... If Stone cant sort that out in Round 1 then he isnt up to it. Quite frankly, it should have been knocked on the head when it first appeared mid way thru last season.

Speed is daly nothing when you dont have the smarts or will to back it up. See Albert, still the fastest player I have ever seen in RL and i could count on half a hand how many times i saw him use it to beat someone. I'd love to see Stone get Aku and tell him to play like Vuna. Honestly, with two rampaging wingers like they could be, we would be very hard to stop.

Aku would be close to alberts pace, id be shocked if he isnt the quickest in the comp, but he also has a lot more size and a genuine sidestep.... something pretty rare. His capabilities of beating players far outweigh alberts. Look at his step compared to the 'sway' or 'change of direction' most quicker players like brett stewart or slater have. if aku gets a centre who can give him decent ball or a chance to run in broken play i think he might surprise you.

Fastest in the comp? Really Aku is that fast? I never really thought so... Definately hasn't really shown us consistantly has he? I think I have the highest hopes for Aku in these forums and I really wish he does step up and hopefully wear the sky blue..

The speed is always there, you just need to look a bit closer when he plays in the nrl. This is because
a) the knights don't utalise his speed enough and
b) He doesnt put himself in positions to use it enough.

He would be much quicker than Slater and quicker than Stewart but those guys not only play in the right position for it, they also are very smart about how and when the use it, Add to this their coach's set up plays that can use their speed.

If you look at the international matches where the defence isnt as smart (But would be as quick) Aku has shown a number of times just how quick he is, his 2nd try v france in the wc is a great example.

Ive called for this before on here....but bring back the kick from the scrum on your own defencive line. When i was a young bloke it was that play from A Johns and J Ainscough that swayed me to become a knights supporter.

Is Aku that fast? I cant remember him out running anyone completely this year? Has he lost some of his speed or we just havent been putting him in positions to utilise it this year?

When he first came over from fiji he was very very fast was either play league or atheltics as everyone at school played league he followed.

He has bulked up alot since then so i daqre say he wouldnt be as fast.

I loved watching them perform that play. Then it was o'davis and Albert. Then it was.......
