Cool. I always wanted to coach. I still might. Wagon in the centres is what this team needs.

I also like Vaealiki at FB. Burt/Peterson/Grothe to fight for the wing spots. Burt can play Centre but I would rather see O'Dwyer given a shot. Or even Pai.

I just hope there aren't anymore 'experiments' with our backline. It's one of the major factors for us coming unstuck against the dogs. I've been campaigning for the Peterson/Vaealiki left Wing/Centre pairing to be reinstated and I just hope Smith goes back to what worked wel for us in the past. From memory Wagon has always played well for us in the centres and his defense is second to none. Grothe needs an experienced head playing along side him and Wagon would be perfect for this role. Good call Colonel, very good call.

PARRA_FAN i'm not knocking the idea of playing Pai in the centres (or Langi or O'dwyer for that matter), I just don't think we can afford to experiment given our current situation. Particularly in positions that we really struggled in v Dogs.

The backline can be shifted quite easily without having to blood to many players IMO.

With Burt given another shot at the No 1 jersey wish might be expected you would have a backline thats fairly consistent

1. Burt
2. Grothe
3. Wagon
4. Vaealiki
5. Petersen

The halves going on PL results and Dykes form could well be

6. Dykes
7. Webster

The forwards line up

8. Cayless
9. Morris
10. Cannings
11. Hindmarsh
12. Armit
13. Hopkins

The bench is then made up from

14. O'Dwyer or Thorman depending on who Smith selects at 5/8
15. Stapleton
16. Pearson
17. Widders/Muspratt again depending on the 5/8 selection.

Put O'Dywer in there because it looks like Karmcihael Hunt will be playing centre. Hunt is fast a skillful but no where near as physical as Tony Carrol.

i have vague memories of Hunt getting hurt during the NZ game, can anyone remember if he was gonna be right to play against us?

Seeing as I already suggested Wagon in the centres more than a week ago it isn't such an amazing coaching effort for the Colonel.

Yes but you already have several strikes against your name for not rating Ashley Graham as our best option at fullback and for calling for Vella to play in the centres amongst many other strange ideas..... ;-)

Experiments my friend.

Besides I never would have done those. Maybe Burt at 5/8 would have been tried in a trial.

Wagon in centres is definately to be tried.

Witt'll be right, and he might even gain some form when his good mates Ryan Hinchliffe and Ash Graham get back on the park outside him

And BTW Graham is no better defensively than the one's that failed on Saturday night. Sure he is young and enthusiastic but that doesn't mean that he deserves the FB spot.
