Excuse me Tama. I have a question for you. How many games have you seen Aitken play?

I actually agree with Tama's future use of Matty. I think he will eventually take over Peach's Fullback spot. He also wouldn't be out of place in the centres for the time being, and Aitken can wait till 2006 to take the 5/8 spot if Matty plays there in 2005. Injuries etc.. may have a say also!

I think it will revolve around what happens with Peachy. If he finishes this year Rogers to fullback, Aitken to 5/8 for 2005.
If Peach plays on Aitken may have to bide his time unless his form demands his inclusion maybe pushing Rogers to center.
Im guessing his patients will be tested if he has to wait till 2006. Another opportunity would most likely come knocking before then which means it will come down to how much he really wants to play for the sharks being a local boy and all.

I don't think slightly bigger offers from other league clubs would sway his opinion. I'm of the view that Rogers would stay at union if it were a question of $$$$, but has genuine feelings about wanting to return and win a premiership at the sharks, the one goal he dreamed of as a kid that he he has never lost, but never achieved.

World cup glory in 2 codes, dual international, origin glory, there is no longer any doubters or question about his credentials as one of the greats of the game, he has done it all.

To captain a premiership winn ing sharks team..........that would be worth coming back for.

It would work out nicely, It would allow noddy to play his game and be a chatty halfback, but not have the pressure of skippering and kicking for goals, Mat would comman more respect from refs and would be leading with genuine blue black and white blood in his veins.

Gee I cant wait to have Rat back but putting him captain in his first year back would be stretching it IMO.
Rat would need to get back in the swing of things first.
I'd play him in the centres but would keep an open mind.
He's far and away the Waratahs best attacking weapon and maybe Australia. (Lotte included).
Talk of Lotte playing fullback is only adding to my confidence Matt will be back.

Still 3 1/2 years til the next World Cup SS. A lot can happen in that time and if Matty's smart he will probably realise his best chance of winning a World Cup has passed.

You wouldnt pay 200 grand for Sailor though ....Rogers and Tiqiri are worth it >+

What sort of manager would'nt make his pledge for his client?

Is it possable he can play this year?? whats the rule there?

Is El Masri another option? I read somewhere his contract expires at the end of this year and there was a suggestion he's looking round.

There is one school of thought that suggests that a bloke who can kick consistently at above 90% probably IS worth more than he thinks he is!

He's no game-breaker as a winger or playmaker though, wheras Mat is.

Matty to come home.
Will be the best fullback in the league.

We WILL win our first comp.

For years I have had this dream that Matty will kick the winning two points for us in a Prem..
It WILL happen.

If it was about money Mat would have been playing for Canterbury, But he chose to go to Rugby Union...
Chances are he will play for the Mighty Sharks......
