Answer: Manly was broke - but the deal was done to ditch Norths but get their money. It was well done - but it was a fraud.

As for Gosford, the ARL/NRL said to Norths "NSO is not good enough - you need to relocate - and you'll get a licence". All lies.

Adelaide Sharks probably better than Sunshine Coast...I don't get the Sunshine Coast obsession. Small, widespread population, no decent stadium...no thanks.

I've found this whole discussion very interesting. Before I found this forum I was pretty anti Central Coast thinking that there was far to many team in NSW. Since then I've learnt of the passion still very present for the Bears and the finer details of how they were screwed. Also learnt that an NRL club is not as expensive to run as an AFL club, smaller populations can support teams where the AFL can't afford to go any where with a population under 400 000.

As for the TV rights values, well Perth still seems the most attractive and Fox has been working for years to get better subscription in WA, doesn't help that all West Coast and Docker games are shown on FTA. So any new TV deal will need a FTA station to garantee exposure like the AFL insists. Additional TV renenue is the main reason why the AFL is targeting western Sydeny rather than Tasmania, the Tasmanians already watch Australian Football so theres no further penetration or potential room to grow.

Though I'd really love to see the Reds back and their colours, I agree wholeheartedly that Perth would be able to accept a relocated team far easier than the Central Coast. I could get behind a relocated Cronulla, thought I'd prefer the Reds. Though it would such for Shark fans, maybe do an American style relocation where the team actually adopts a new name and colours in their new city ala Seattle Sonics are now the Oklahoma City Thunder, Cleveland Browns became the Baltimore Ravens. So Cronalla Sharks become the Perth Reds. Yeah, I don't see that happening either. Well maybe a relocated Cronulla could be called the Swan River Whalers, Bull Sharks in regards to being more location specific as the Swan River is full of them.

bloody hell, how dumb are you, if any of this was true and there has been a huge cover up, why havn`nt the bears taken us and the ARL to court, if i was the head of the bears i would not be meekly lying down, i would be seeking legal advice and taking it further

If Quad Park was bigger than 10000 than they could share between there and Suncorp.

It depends if the NRL see Adelaide as a priority. I just wish they just moved right now so we can get on with making the NRL better.
