Which people would slander the club endlessly for, just like they did when we did exactly that with Ponga.

People chastise the club for being shit, but then we do something to try and improve and the general consensus is "no, not like that!!"

The other options is get out of salary cap hell for a year. Pay forward some of the salaries of players so you can clear the decks a bit and get other talent in. Though it's a terrible time with 2 new clubs coming in.

Use some of the saved money afterwards to scower lower grades of the Bulldogs, Panthers, Roosters etc to see what talent is blocked and you guys have a pathway for.

Lol attacking the club because they accidentally had an event for a spinal charity the week they were playing the Storm? Jesus, way to overreact to an oversight. Must be Knights hit piece week for the Fox league cronies. At least the Tigers are getting a break.

That's why I said "it pours" in that the article was so obviously a "pile on" by Fox Sports. There are plenty of issues at the Knights and with its administration, but that was just crap.

Andrew Johns had a bit of a shot at the Knights in his article previewing tonight's game in the SMH, Says they are reaping the poor development work of the last 20 years in its junior ranks. Says it reflects the revolving door the club has had in its recruitment/retention personnel over the last 7-8 years where they've burned through (iirc) 6 different Recruitment Managers before settling on Peter O'Sullivan.

At least they have a decent one with a good track record. Now whether they can keep the guys they develop is another thing. Really comes down to whether the club can push to another successfull period, and whether Blake Green is different enough to make the team his own, and make calls like Ryles is at the Eels.

He’s right on something for once. There’s a reason why the club went out and spent so much money on Peter O’Sullivan. A lot of people in the Knights forum have already decided POS is a failure because he hasn’t been able make marquee signings other than Brown despite limited options but I’m prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt for now given most things he’s doing are the opposite of what all our other recruitment officers have done so far that have lead us here. While he’s not been too active with FG recruitment he has been very active with our junior sides.

The worst period for the Knights pathways were the Tinkler/Bennett era where they were basically destroyed and we’ve suffered for that in recent years. It’s starting to get back on track and we’re bringing a heap of kids into FG now, but it would be in a much better place if it hadn’t been destroyed.

Knights fans deserve all the pain in the world after thinking Tinky was going to make them some super club

And honestly you guys are like the Raiders in that you will need to develop your own and hope you can hold onto them. Dogs juniors got destroyed when Des was here, and until Gus came, we were stuffed. Now we have pathways which are much stronger.
