Why did we get smashed by the kiwis?

Our forwards were dominated, Our fifth tackle plays were f**king attrocious. Our attack was rushed and disjointed. Our defence out wide was f**ked. Oh and Manu Vatuvei.

New coach, Sheens is has derped the Roos for too long.

The squad is too old. Sheens needs to put his foot down and tell all the blokes currently over 30 that only 2 of them will go to the world cup in 2017, and it's up to them to earn it. But we are we kidding, we'll just get thrashed and Sheens can pop out 20 'reasons' they lost but claim he won't offer any excuses. If Hayne's NFL career goes no where he can always bail us out.

for one match or are they simply better players than ours now?

i've said on numerous occasions now that jesse bromwhich is the best prop in the game, something that not alot of people took seriously a few months ago, but i don't think there's any debate now. and what happens when kearney finally takes that chip off his shoulder and pairs up JWH with big jessie? man they can be even more scary, and unfortunately players like matt scott thaiday nate myles were just not up to that level.

Most of the best forwards in the NRL are non Australian. Woods isn't international class. A plodder. Scott's average. Smith, Thaiday and Bird are coming to the end of the line. Parker was one of your better players. Tamou isn't good enough. Give Jackson and Grevsmuhl a go. They couldn't do any worse.

Deluded pom indeed.

If you can honestly say he wasn't the best forward on the field with a straight face then I don't know what game you were watching.

I can seriously keep a straight face and tell you that Taupau & Bromwich were better than Parker. I was struggling to keep a straight face when you said Parker was the best on field. Just because a player throws a couple of offloads, one of which drew an erroneous penalty (he straight up lost the ball), doesn't mean he was best on ground.

I see he's having a whinge about Taupau now - http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/league...aupaus-throatslitting-gesture-was-out-of-line
A bit of sour grapes there. Taupau left it on the field.

p.s. - bum of minto - get off my D.

Parker's involvement was huge, made over 200M etc..

Best Aussie by a mile... but in a team dominated - Tapau was exceptionally good, my MoM (Bromwich is the best prop in the game, and Matulino close) - the gesture was a dickhead move imo

if you were a young kid looking in the stands watching that, I don't know what you're going to think."

My young kids watching loved it. In fact it is very similar to one of the actions that the whole team does before the game during the Haka. No one (in league circles) has brought it up before now.

Whats more of a dick move - a gesture - or a crusher tackle that could result in serious injury? Get your priorities sorted out.

Woods makes loads of metres and has a decent offload. He is a great prop considering his young age. The fact you don't want to see it doesn't matter.

this is from the city country thread;

paul vaughn 2015 ampg - 115

tamou 123 (sharing metres with scott and hannant)
woods 200
fafita 161
gall 198
merrin 159
snowden 114
klemmer 121 (off the bench)

i'll add the toads and bros for context.

bromwich 151
scott 140
matulino 151
maguire 110

woodsy is absolutely killing it atm

Because the selectors, captain, and 'future immortals' are arrogant f**kwits who are finally reaping what they sow. Suck shit, May they lose every game while Smith is still captain.

Yeah those metres are good but anyone with a clue would still take Bromwich and probably Matulino over Woods.

I rate Woods but I'm with you betcats, Bromwich or Matulino for me. What about the offload stats, how do they compare?

Haha magpie4evers side would get belted by England

I'm not saying that this is the team for the 2017 WC, but if the final was played on the weekend the side I posted would flog the South Sea Island sheepf**kers or the Pommy punces.

Get that up ya.

Someone posted earlier about stats for metres gained. Woods may have had more carries than any other forward on the pitch. It's not how many metres you carry the ball for it's the damage you do when you do take the ball up. Woods was easily tackled time and time again. Does he actually have an offload? If he does I've yet to see it. Like I said, a plodder.

i've rated bromwich the best prop in the game based on performance over an extended period of time (say 2 years). if woods can keep up those sort of numbers up for a season to 2 solid, then he will surpass them all easily

for efficiency woods wins no matter which way you cut it up;

meters runs m/run
woods 200 21 9.52
scott 140 14.8 9.46
bromwich 151 16.1 9.38

minutes m/min
woods 58.00 3.45
scott 56.00 2.50
bromwich 63.00 2.40

offloads games off/game
woods 11 7 1.6
scott 3 8 0.4
bromwich 10 8 1.3
