What kills our juniors is you guys poaching em and not keeping to your word....
Anyhow we split with our junior leagues from yours for the better......
While I miss the great people at Souths Juniors, it certainly has been 1000% better for us in the Balmain competition. No one screaming on the sidelines for U6s to bash each other. No once screaming out to kill the referee. A new similar sizes competition played in great spirit compared to a competition that list over 20% of its teams and a record number of code of conduct hearings. I know he ended up with the better deal.
On the juniors story, yes there were a couple signed eg Momorovski and Butcher. Some others were also the work of Peter Tunks shopping his players around out of Souths Juniors. None will ever amount to anything anyway except for Connor Watson who wasn't a Souths Junior anyway.
But since the Butcher signing there has been an understanding (esp during the period when looking at the junior competition) that none were signed or brought into junior reps that Souths wanted to keep.
The reason we got a couple at the junior rep level in the last 12 months is that Richardson is not interested in the local talent, this includes the younger Butcher (a NSW junior rep) that Richardson told he wasn't worth anything.
There is a reason why there has been a high level turning over of staff at Souths, esp in the recruitment side of things
Have look around there are alot of Souths Juniors kids 18-20 out there contracted to other clubs. always happens because the juniors do a great job and there are only so many they can sign but its a lot higher now
