Why don't the refs send off anymore?

We saw it today... anyone can tell you that was a send-off in the Dragons Bulldogs game that could very well have changed the outcome, yet all that happens is the player ends up on report. The Bulldogs were down a player for the rest of the game and no outcome from that incident helped the Bulldogs.

I'm not saying that specifically in this game that the Dragons deserved to lose or what have you, but I'm saying why don't the refs send players off anymore for brutal hits that are obviously more than just penalties?

The thing is, if he did send him off it would be completely against current precedent.

Not that I support the precedent

The entire referee system is broken due to poor coaching, reactionary policy and weak officiating. The send off situation, or lack of, is just symptomatic of that. But then again the refereeing situation is just symptomatic of poor administration, reactionary administration and weak administration. And none of it is going to change.

You're having a laugh if you think that was a send off. It happens every game. On report, penalty. Player misses a week or two. Done.

Learn the rules moron, can't be a sin bin.

No way was a send off. Unlucky JDB is such a good tackler and cut the bloke in half. Would have got him round the stomach otherwise.

Let's get this right.

Trowing a punch = automatic sin bin.

Swinging arm to the head = penalty/report

I reckon if a player is unable to play from foul player the opposition should lose an inter change
Plus the penalty and on report

That hit was crook today

That judgement isn't always easy to make though.

Make no mistake, this would lead to just as much controversy.

Just like a sending off would have today.

When it really comes down to it most fans support the send off, just not of anyone from their own team.

Today was a simple one.
High shot that knocked the other dude out cold.
