Why don't they just play music !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remmember when that's all they used to play.

I get Channel [V], Channell [V] (plus 2), VHS, Max and MTV. 5 channels and cant find any music videos.

Trying to find music is becoming like playing spot the Aussie in Hyde Park.

Who the hell care what Hulk Hogan and his dippy daughter are up, and Xibit used to play, now its Pimp My Ride for hours on end, then its some dickhead Punking some pretend celebrity that no one really cares about?

Then on Channel [V] its Yumi telling us what movies we should be seeing

Why don't they just play music ffs ?

Yeah its pretty bad, at least they got rid of Club V for Channel V 2, but when they do get around to playing the videos, its usually the same ones on both channels. I somehow seem to see Justin Timberlake's song at least once just while flicking through the music channels at any time of the day it seems.

We still have two very good music channels here.

Juice TV and J2. However, C4 and MTV are terrible offenders at not playing music. MTV is by far the worst.

Thank god MTV don't play much music. The little bit of music they do play is sh*t.

Although I'm glad they play Viva La Bam and Rob & Big.

MTV Australia should be shot for not screening Headbangers Ball anymore.

Surreal life is a cool show though, on Vh1.

But you are right, I normally surf these channels now and then, there are more shows than Music.

[V]2 is the only one playing regular music, but it seems to be the same twenty songs on a loop. Same as Club [V] was, I guess, but without sh*t like Mixmaster.

Lately I have been watching concerts on Ovation and ABC 2.

ABC 2 has some top stuff. Elvis Costello & Wolfmother have both been on in the last few days. The Bravery, You Am I & Franz Ferdinand have all been on recently too...

And they have repeats of Spicks & Specks...

Channel V do however play a selection of good stuff... they just hide it amongst the crap... when they play music that is.

Do MTV still have the Rock Chart? That at least was decent, and I didn't mind TRL Australia too much (good live bands), except they only played half a video and then talked over the rest of it!

Oh and Paully, for those who don't live in Sydney/Melbourne/Brisbane, having a good live band in town is a very rare thing indeed.

I don't mind the MTV shows. Wildboyz and Dirty Sanchez are two of the greatest shows ever made. MXC on [V] is p*ss funny too.
