that muppet just wants Brisbane to mirror Sydney and be a bunch of small suburban clubs struggling to grow. Just look at his username.

The Dolphins are 4th in "season membership".

But as we know these figures are rubbery AF.
Ticketed members is the real stat.

What anyone of sane mind knows, is the measure of the Dolphins success will be in year 5 and year 10, not after 1 season.

Dolphins average 32k fans at Lang Park and have a sponsorship deal worth $1.25m a year.

Clearly the second wealthiest rugby league club in the world.

Dolphins set to sign Adventure Kings as major NRL sponsor on historic deal

While the nine Sydney-based clubs have sponsorships averaging out to about $950,000 a season, the NRL’s 17th team have easily trumped that - and they haven’t even played a game yet.

Look at what I found:

the last seq team added went bust and had to be rescued by nrl. Let’s see if this next one can manage to stay afloat before getting too excited about adding a fourth mouth to feed in SEQ!

Didn't age too well.

West Coast Pirates and the Melbourne Storm are the very definition of "mouth to feed".

We should be trying to grow the sport though, not just appease TV networks who will probably just rip the game off anyway. There are lots of ways a Perth club can be set up where its investing money into local comps and also using a feeder club in the QLD.
That’s a good argument

png won’t raise the tv deal on their own one bit but they bring their own benefits

Perth does offer some benefit for Sunday 6 pm as other clubs aren’t so keen and it locks in Perth with crowd friendly time slots

but people like Perth red should stop complaining about the tv deal if the nrl is looking at longer term growth at the cost of more tv dollars now

the easiest way to maximise the tv deals is add two more beisbane teams, two nz teams and central coast bears and no png Perth or Adelaide

PNG has the ability to unearth new talent and lift some Papuans out of poverty.

Imagine the benefits of building rugby league pitches at all schools across PNG and having a high school competition that feeds into the Hunters?

Parents would make sure their kids go to school and focus on their football just for the opportunity to make it into the Hunters.

A second or even a third Queensland Cup team for PNG would help speed up the process.

One of the prerequisites for playing for the Hunters should be attending school and achieving a tertiary education to set them up for life after football.

Yes, let's create an elite upper class for PNG.

That's really encompasses the ethos of our game.

Anyone from PNG, that is half decent will leave at the first opportunity they get.

Took 5 years for titans to go tits up. One swallow doesn’t make a summer.
1. Titans didn't have a Leagues Club.

2. Titans didn't have the infrastructure in place when they entered the NRL.

3. Building the Centre of Excellence bankrupted the club. Its budget was based on the club pulling 18-20k crowds at Robina Park with enormous stadium rental fees.

4. Dolphins already have a high performance training centre, shopping complex and Leagues club generating money.

Arguing that the Dolphins could end up like the Titans is just plain dumb. If anything, a Perth-based team is more likely to end up like the Titans because it will lack a Leagues Club and high performance training centre.

Can you provide evidence that Perth has 20k active RL fans?

What we know is Perth has 8k FTA viewers and 5k PTA viewers (2017). That's a total of 13k active RL fans. If you add the 4k players then the total is 17k.
