Irrelevant, the OVERALL avg fta audience in Brisbane was up just 15k a game over the season. Thats the NEW audience reach Ch9 got in Brisbane this year. The way people on here were going on I thought it must have been a massive amount.

one minute AFL is taking over SW Brisbane and we have to have a club there to fight back
next minute the afl is wasting its money in Brisbane and making no impact
then AFL gets good following in brisbane but nrl in perth couldnt possibly

Perth has its challenges but I think it's an easier market than Melbourne. Melbourne has the advantage of having more expats but I think culturally its anti-rugby and suspicious of anything from Sydney. That's my experience anyway. I feel Perth will get behind any sport if the team are winning and will embrace the opportunity to be part of the most popular domestic rugby comp in the world.

15k a game, in the context of growing the WA audience it isnt a stretch that we could see close to that with a successful NRl club in WA. So for all the bluster of a new Brisbane club value to FTA it didnt generate much more in new audience than a perth club could.
