geez some people are so thick on here lol. Yes in terms of new audience reach they are exactly the same! In terms of aggregate increase of Ch9 viewers in the city they are exactly the same!
How can it be so hard to understand that an avg 15k a game increase is the same whichever city it is in!
Are you saying a Perth game not involving a qld team will date only 15k less in Brisbane than a game involving Brisbane easts ?

what a load of bs

He's now arguing that a Perth-based team will be watched by 60k people on 9Gem in Perth if it is given 12 FTA games. That's how much it would need to gemerate to bump Perth's average from 8k per game to 18k. He reckons a Perth based team can increase the overall average viewership by 10k. So he's banking on a Perth-based team generating almost twice as many viewers in Perth as the Storm get in Melbourne, despite the average AwFuL game generating 56k viewers in Perth. The bloke is a complete nutjob. Him and his mates don't live in the real world.
sigh. The goal will be to increase significantly the Perth games when the perth club is on, and increase generally and the other fta each week.
Weve seen (and again Im loath to even argue the point because the ratings are bollox and no where near accurate, but for sake of argument) Perths audience for fta flips between 3k and 16k. So we get up to a regular 18-20k and happy days we are seeing growth for our tv partner in a brand new market and RL gets stronger.

Arguing against seeing Rl grow is one weird position for a RL fan to be taking!

haha you really dont understand do you?

Before the Dolphins NRl games in Brisbane avgd 96k. With the Dolphins NRL games this year avgd 111k.

So Ch9 got 15k new viewers a game on avg in Brisbane due to Dolphins (And broncos doing well).

So the sum total of Ch9s audience increase due to the Dolphins (And broncos doing well) was an avg 15k a game in Brisbane.

If Perth FTA avg audience increased by 15k a game then Ch9's audience increase would be exactly the same

I really dont know how else to spell it out to you.

..solution would be more qld teams coz they rate higher in Brisbane. I knew you'd come around..

Guess they don't want Brisbane 3 then. Funny way of saying it lol..
Again I dont think they necessarily dont want anyone, maybe PNG?
They may beleive theres more market to reach in SEQ but thats not the same as saying they dont want anywhere else. If theyd have said " We believe Brisbane3 should be club 18 and we wouldnt want to see it go anywhere else" then youd have a point, but thats not even close to what they said.

Channel nine gushing over what the dolphins did for tv ratings
“Fordham: “We’re really committed to working with the NRL in growing the competition, and Queensland is a big part of that. We think there’s room for another team here in Queensland, and the Dolphins have been the perfect example. “

Bangs his head on the wall repeatedly at the stupidity of some people on this forum.
15k A GAME avg INCREASE, that was the benefit for Ch9 of the Dolphins (and Broncos doing well)

Nine on brisbane: "The more games we can get played featuring Queensland teams in Southeast Queensland, the better."

Nine on Perth: " "
